1 Chronicles 12: 17
And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.

When the children of Benjamin and Judah came unto David, he went out to meet them and said to them, “If you have come to me in peace to help me, I am ready for you to join me. But if you have come to betray me to my enemies when my hands are free from violence, may the God of our ancestors see it and judge you.”

We should develop the character of David. We come across diverse people with different attitudes. We have to exhibit the divine Characters. That’s what David practised in his life. He always strived to live peacefully with all. We have to do good judgement and justice. That’s why David says: I have done good judgement and justice, leave me not to mine oppressors (Ps 129:121)
If we start judging others we will lose our peace. We have to practice only taking good from others, let God judge them for their bad natures. Only those whose heart and mind is pure can make the statement of David. We have to keep our hands and mind from violence.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.(Isaiah 26: 3)
St Paul says: Follow peace with all men.(Heb 12:14)
Jesus said: My peace I give unto you (Jn 14:27)

When we are having peace within:
Our enemies will become our friends.
Those who are against us, will be for us. Those who are hating us will be loving us. Those who are complaining against us will be favouring us. Believe! if we have peace, we have everything.
