Let us serve the Lord night and day in the presence of the Lord

Let us serve the Lord night and day in the presence of the Lord in this Lockdown, just as the Levites did in the House of Lord, night and day… 1Chronicles 9:26-27

🎚️God has a plan for each one of us to minister unto Him, even in the midst of this Covid Pandemic. When we read from 1Chronicles Chapters 6-9, we see that every member of the Tribe of Levi was used for Temple service. Not everyone could be in the music ministry but every Levite had a place in the temple service. They waited upon their office in service to the Lord according to their order faithfully. As individuals we too need to know how to wait upon the Lord in whatever capacity He has placed us in.

🎚️Every Levite who filled the office was responsible for what he did and he cannot do his neighbor’s job. Similarly, we cannot say that we can do a better job than our neighbor in the ministry. Each person’s position counts. The Levites had their regulations to which they were obedient. And the same is true of us all. We have not only a duty to fulfil, we have to fulfil it at the right time and place for the Glory of God wherever we are, even in lockdown, which is why we have to continue sharing the Word as long as we can within our limitations and restrictions.

🎚️We read in 1Chroncles 9: 26-27, But the four principal gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted with the responsibility for the rooms and treasuries in the house of God. They would spend the night stationed around the house of God, because they had to guard it; and they had charge of the key for opening it each morning.

🎚️The four chosen Levites that were in charge, were living at the tabernacle. They did not live in the outskirt villages. They supervised the work that the others did on their duty. Their places of dwelling were around the tabernacle. The opening of the tabernacle for worship was on their shoulders. They had to do everything like a clockwork to make sure that there was no disruption to the worship.

🎚️Duty to service dominated their mind. The duty to obey God came out of their relationship with God. Obedience to God should flow out His Redemptive Love for us. We should be so consumed by His Love. Perfect Love casts out fear, and in this corona infected space, we should be dominated by His Love, so that, we can continue serve Him.

🎚️These Levites stayed round about the house of God, and did not go home when they were on duty. They made adjustment to their living arrangements, so that, they could do the duty. They planned for the accomplishment of their duty. Could our family, church and nation see us making some adjustment in this lockdown to fulfill God’s greater purpose?

🎚️Opening and Closing the gate might look so trivial as a duty in the House of Lord. To most of us the work God gives might not look great. In this Lockdown, those who were doing trivial things are the heroes in the front line work in this pandemic. Just look around and see who are the ones in the community that we can’t do without?

🎚️Every work counts and we are called to be faithful in little things and doing as unto the Lord, Colossians 3:17. Little things can be greatly done. By doing little things faithfully many a life has been saved and made great in this pandemic

🎚️Child of God, Remember this, if God has given you a ministry, do not entangle yourselves with the affairs of this world but wait on the Lord and serve Him wholeheartedly in whatever capacity. We can’t all be preachers and famous evangelists, but we need someone to put up the tent and arrangement the chairs. We need to be faithful witness wherever we are to serve the Lord.

🎚️The Levites were the ministers of the tabernacle and the temple, whose job it was to assists the priests, to attend to the appointed services, sacrifices, ceremonies, and festivals. Some of the Levites were allocated for the department of music which was visible and noticeable, others were unseen, some only were gatekeepers. But they all had to do the same job, everyday, dutifully and faithfully. We are called to Come Bless the Lord as servants of the Lord, in the House of Lord and in the Community in the Corona Time and Space wholeheartedly…Amen🙏
