Doing right in the eyes of the Lord
After the death of King David, we see many kings who were not following the Lord properly. King Asa was an exemption. (1 Kings 15:9-15)
- Asa did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. v11.
- expelled the male shrine prostitutes. v12.
- got rid of all the idols his fathers had made. v12.
- even removed his grandmother from the post of queenmother because of her pagan practices. v13.
- burned and destroyed the Asherah pole. v13.
- brought into the temple all that belongs to it. v15.
“Asa’s heart was fully committed to the Lord all his life”. 1 Kings.15:14.
Asa’s father(Abijah), grandfather ( Rehoboam) and great grandfather ( Solomon) were doing evil in the eyes of the Lord.As his heart was fully committed to the Lord, he was always interested to do what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He was bold in taking the right decisions and tried to correct the mistakes of his ancestors also.
Are we always doing what is right in the eyes of the Lord?
Are we fully committed to the LORD in everything?

♾️ The Introduction ♾️
The Bible introduces each king of Israel and Judah according to the life they led. We read about the entry of Ahab, the king of Israel. He was the son of Omri. And he did evil in the sight of the Lord more than all who were before him (1 Kings 16:30).
Ahab married Jezebel, the daughter of Sidonian king. Ahab served and worshipped Baal. He built a temple for Baal in Samaria. Ahab sanctioned the worship of Baal in Israel and made it legal. Baal was the god of the Canaanites. Ahab also made a wooden image.
It looks like Ahab was keen on provoking the Lord to the maximum. Spirituality was at its lowest in Israel during his time. Ahab concentrated on promoting the worship of Baal in Israel. The sinking spirituality of Israel is really sad, shocking and sickening. God would have been sad and disgusted by such behaviour.
The way one is introduced reveals who they are actually. Wonder how would we be introduced by someone? Can we be introduced as a God fearing person? Can we be introduced as a person who walks according to the word of the Lord? Do we provoke the Lord to anger or irritate Him? It is high time we did a self-analysis.
God bless us to be channels of blessings as we dedicate ourselves to Him.
