David’s dependence on God

David lived in daily dependence on God for guidance. He asked the lord before going to fight the Philistines and because the lord told him to go,he went even against the advise of his own men. 1 Samuel 23:1-5

So he became a man after Gods own heart. He listened to God more than his friends.

David had delivered the people of keilah from the oppression of the Philistines.God’s answers, were a sign of His blessing and protection for David.

Saul heard that David was in Keileh. He went there certain that he would catch David there.at last because Keileh was a city that was enclosed with double gates and bars.

Humanly speaking, David could have reasoned that the people of Keilah would be grateful to him and they would never betray him into the hands of Saul. But he sought the God for guidance

God told him the people of Keilah would betray him. So he listened to God and left Keileh and thus saved himself and his men 23:6_13 So God did not deliver him into Saul’s hand 23:14 God protected David from Saul for fulfilling His own divine purposes. Saul’s greater authority and army could not triumph over God’s protection of David.

David listened to God and God protected him
