We can turn nowhere else but to God for forgiveness

This chapter explained the saddest story in David’s life.
David sinned with Bathsheba, that displeased the Lord.
This is the essence of sin in your life and my life.

When we sin, we displease God.
We do ……………..
📍…… what we want to do,
📍………………….. what we think is good,
📍…………………….. what we desire,
📍……………………….. what we think is right.

The “error thought” that leads us to negative choices.
The result is that the negative energy of those choices becomes our life experience.
Samuel 11:27 tells us, “But the LORD was not pleased with what David had done”.
We may escape the justice of man, but we will never escape the justice of God.
David is soon to reap all the consequences of his action.

In David’s life, we have seen how easy for a Christian to drift away from his moral standards.
Just a small compromise and letdown can easily lead to bigger problems.

We all make mistakes in life.
But there is forgiveness in the life of David as well.

He cried out to the Lord for forgiveness:
“Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.”
When we sin, we have to turn to God in humble reliance upon his steadfast love and mercy.

We can turn nowhere else but to God for forgiveness;

Because of Jesus, God accepts our broken and contrite hearts.

In every temptation we face today, let us lift up our eyes to Jesus, and live a life that is pleasing to God.
