Learn From The History
Daniel Chapter 5
1️⃣ THE CHANGE OF THE REGIME:
📝 “That very night Belshazzar, king of the Babylonians, was slain, and Darius the Mede took over the kingdom..” V 30-31
📝 Nebuchadnezzar’s dream recorded in Chapter 2 @ v 37-39a supported by the event of “Writing on the Wall” @ 5:25-28 was fulfilled. So there was a Regime Change as well as a Social Change.
2️⃣ TRACE OUT THE REASON:
The root cause of this change was PRIDE. The Bible says, “Pride goes before destruction “(Prov 16:18)
📝 Belshazzar knew the reason of the fall of his father’s kingdom @ arrogant and pride v 20
3️⃣ AVOID THE SAME MISTAKES:
Belshazzar knew the mistakes of his father but
✔️ he did not humbled himself (arrogant and pride)
✔️ he did not honor the Sovereign God.
✔️ he dishonor God by using the goblets from the temple for merry making.
✔️ he praised the gods of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood and stone.
4️⃣ THE JUDGEMENT:
God sent a hand to write an inscription on the wall: Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin v 25
📌 Belshazzar’s days are numbered for judgement; his kingdom will be divided among the Medes and the Persians.
It was fulfilled accordingly (v 30-31)
💞 Beloved Church, learning from the past history / mistakes is a sign of maturity. We, as a child of God, must excel in these areas.
John writes, “.. these (gospel / 66 books) are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God..and that by believing you may have life in his name” 20:30-31
LET US DEVOTE OURSELVES TO STUDY AND OBSERVANCE OF HIS WORD (Ezra 7:10)
Glory to God 🙏

Daniel 5:27 says, You have been weighed in the balances and found wanting. This was written by the fingers of the hand sent from God on the walls of the king’s palace. Because he had lifted himself before the Lord, and brought the vessels of the temple of God and drank wine with his people. We say that it was written because of his sin.
Yes, God weighed him. But do we have the understanding and awareness that God will weigh us too? Every way of a man is right in his own eyes. But the Lord weighs the heart. Proverb 21: 2. But the Lord weighs the spirits. Proverb 16:2. That means we should be aware that we are being weighed by God.
If God is weighing the fruits in our heart, or our good works is weighed, definitely we will be fall short of. If we weigh the word of God in our heart, our love towards the Lord, our obedience or our anointation etc we will fall short off too.
Our Lord will supply all our lacks and wants. If we fall short in our prayer life, meditation of the word of God, in faith, in our fruits and in good works etc, let us pray and ask for the help and guidane of the Holy Spirit . Let us not fall short, when God is weighing our heart and our spirit. Amen. Hallelujah.

It is well frequently to weigh ourselves in the scale of God’s Word.
We will find it a holy exercise to read some Psalms of David.
We can meditate upon each verse and ask ourselves,“
“Can I say this?
Have I felt as David felt?
Has my heart ever been broken on account of sin?
Has my soul been full of true confidence in the hour of difficulty?
Do I take the cup of Salvation and call upon the name of the Lord?”
Turn to the life of Christ, and as we read, ask ourselves, how far we are conformed to His likeness.
Endeavor to discover whether we have the meekness, the humility, the lovely spirit, which he constantly displayed.
Have you ever cried like Paul,
“O wretched man that Iam!Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?”
“Judge ourselves that we will not be judged “
