Building one life on God’s Provision

BUILDING ONE’S LIFE ON GOD’S PROVISION
Even for the swiftest , strongest, smartest, richest and most favoured among us – life is risky. Because we live unpredictable lives , how could we even think to ” boast about tomorrow” ? ( Prov 27:1; Luke 12:19-20 ) . Yet some people do.

๐Ÿ“Œ One way to combat self-reliance is to “commit to the Lord whatever we do” ( Prov 16:3 ) ; and “whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” ( Col 3:23 ) ; to submit ourselves and our futures in humble kingdom service and to depend on God’s providence.

๐Ÿ“Œ Our lives here on earth has become unpredictable @ Corona pandemic, war, killings, accidents, natural calamities etc.
Sickness has become common in every family. Yes, illness affects every mortal body. We’re all headed toward decay. Dust to dust ( Gen2:7 ;Eccl 3:20 )

๐Ÿ“Œ Today’s reading passage ( Eccl 9:10-12) calls us to do the right things at the right time with right attitude and with right spirit because “no one knows when his TIME will come ” v 12 .

The Bible tells us to ” Work while it is day.. night is coming when no one can work ” ( John 9:4 )
” Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed.. ” 2Tim 2:15

๐Ÿ“Œ Let us ponder upon the life’s challenging question : On what have you built your life โ“
Are we building our lives on shifting sand or on the solid rock ?

๐Ÿ’ž Beloved Church, let us examine ourselves to evaluate our stand on God’s Provision. Are we building our lives on the solid rock or in the sinking sand ?
“.. just as we received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him – rooted and built up in him ” Col 2:6-7

Ecclesiastes 11:4 โ€œWhoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.โ€

As todayโ€™s scripture reminds us, those who wait for perfect weather will never plant seeds; those who look at every cloud will never harvest crops.

He who neglects the necessary works of sowing and reaping, because the weather is not exactly suitable to his desires, will lose his harvest.

Success demands taking risk which means not being submitted to fear.

We have some big fears and some little fears.

We fear the future, we fear whatโ€™s going to happen with our jobs and our family, and we fear little things like whether we said the right thing to someone, whether that presentation went well, or even making a phone call.
In all of these situations, we have a choice to make.

Are we going to let the fear control you, or
are we going to take a risk of faith because we know we have a God who loves us?

What Christ-like risk is God telling us to take in faith?

How many of us struggle to take a risk in our walk with Jesus?

The risks can vary from moving our family to a third world country to do foreign missions.
Risks will require faith, but we donโ€™t arrive at this kind of faith by accident.

Reading the Bible and prayer are two simple ways to prepare for acts of faith.
Reading Godโ€™s word is how we learn that God is faithful.

Be faith-driven instead of fear-driven.

There will always be wind. There will always be clouds, and the way He works will always be shrouded in mystery.

God will never give us full control.

If we insist on knowing everything, we will never sow and therefore we will never reap.
If we always focus on what could go wrong, we will never sow and we will never reap.
Therefore, โ€ฆ
โ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ.. we must learn how to sow in uncertainty.

But remember. . . โ€ฆ.
โ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ it seems uncertain to us, but itโ€™s never uncertain to Him.
He is always certain. He is a certain God and His plans never fail.
