Grumbling is a sin

Exodus: 16

❇️ You are not grumbling against us but against the Lord (v8)

❇️ Selective amnesia of forgetting God’s miracles and goodness and not the hard life they had in Egypt made the Israelites to look at the problem more than look up to the solution provider

❇️ Grumbling shows an attitude of ingratitude against the Lord. He is Jehovah Jireh the one who provides for all our needs. When we complain or grumble about something we actually question or suspect God’s ability to provide what we need.

❇️ Grumbling is a sin. James 5:9 says, “Don’t grumble against each other, brothers or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door.” If we will be judged for grumbling against others how much more will we be judged for grumbling against God.

❇️ Grumbling also shows our victim mentality or ‘ poor me ‘ which will set us on a downward spiral of self pity and feeling wronged😫. Often we grumble when our want is not met.

❇️ Our want for immediate gratification is what leads to grumbling which is satan’s subtle manipulation of us against God and his provision. If we can delay our gratification we will not grumble.

❇️ Anything we worry about becomes bigger in our life. Instead of thinking about the problem if we focus on the solution we will not grumble.

❇️ Antidote for grumbling is godliness with contentment which is a great gain(1Tim.6:6)😊
