I dressed you in fine linen and covered you with costly garments

Ezekiel 16:10-14 “I clothed you with an embroidered dress and put leather sandals on you. I dressed you in fine linen and covered you with costly garments. ……….. You became very beautiful and rose to be a queen. And your fame spread among the nations on account of your beauty, because the splendor I had given you made your beauty perfect, declares the Sovereign LORD.”

This chapter is the longest chapter in the Book of Ezekiel.
This chapter’s, 63 verses make it the longest prophecy in the Bible.

In fact, Ezekiel 16 is longer than the books of Jonah, Nahum, Haggai, or Obadiah.

Here God is dealing with the city of Jerusalem.
This picture of Israel being lost in sin and abominations, without any hope.

They have once again descended into idolatry and the Lord is trying to woe them back unto Himself.

This is an accurate picture of each of us who is lost in our sin.

But God promises that He is more than able to cover every sin, every dark failure we fear we can’t be forgiven for.

He is waiting for us to come to Him so that He can forgive and cover us.

He is reminding us of His great love for us and of all the wonderful things He has done for us,

Everyone likes to be loved, to hear words of affection, to receive gifts, and be cared for tenderly.

God did all these things for Israel, and He cares for us with the same abiding affection.

God loves us despite our past.
*God loves us even though we have nothing to offer Him.
God nurtures us.
God doesn’t force Himself on us. We must accept His offer of love by faith.
God keeps his promises to us.
God blesses us with every good gift.
*God will cover our sins and receive us back even when we reject his love.

The Lord has taken a bunch of unwanted, unloved people, saved them by His grace.
Friends,…..
…. we may be like that little baby that has been cast away and left to die.
we may feel unloved, uncared for and unwanted today.
But… Jesus love us……. So much,…… so that He went to a cross and died for our sins.
He will forgive us if we will come to Him, 1 John 1:9.
God wants us to be what we were made to be.

HALLELUJAH! PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God ; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations. Ezekiel 14:6

Repenting and coming back from old ways Meaning of Repenting feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one’s wrongdoing or sin. In this chapter, we see God is telling Israelites leaders who came to ask for a word from God, so God is telling them what they have done, to repent and to turn back from idols and abominations.

Those time Israelites instead of worshipping the living God, worshipped the Idols and set them in there heart they believed in Stone more than the one who called them to be his people. But God wanted them to repent and turn back as the way was leading them to destruction not to peace. So what our are idols ? which we have kept inside our heart which we don’t wanna turn back from, it can be anything which leads you not to peace but confusion.

Sometimes devil makes sin look like good to us so that we get used to it and cannot discern it. But the one who is inside of us lets us know about it through convicting us from inside, helping us to understand that is it according to God’s will or not. God forgives us everytime, confession needs to be done daily, its not like you have repented once and come back its a daily confession of making you better. Asking God to help you, to discern sin and live a life which God has purposed for you need to be done daily.

No one perfect only God makes us better, its never late to come back home. God always wants us to repent and turn ourselves from sin and come to him who gives life and thats too abundantly.
