Jehovah – Shammah 💫✨

📖*The city [of Jerusalem] will be in the center of it…. the temple sanctuary will be in the center….And the name of the city from that time on will be: “The Lord is there” Eze. 48:15,21,35.

I. Ezekiel’s Promise of Restoration

A. OCCASION OF THE REVELATION OF GOD’S NAME
👉 Ezekiel had prophesied 25 years earlier that Jerusalem and the Temple would be utterly destroyed.
👉 Everything came to pass just as Ezekiel had prophesied.
👉 As the 70 years of captivity wore on, God said that in later years, Jerusalem would be called “The Lord is there.” “JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH”

Wow! What an awesome admission the entire world would make, someday about Jerusalem!

B. THE HISTORY OF GOD’S MANIFEST PRESENCE
📍Down through the history of Israel, God manifested himself among His people – in individuals, such as Samson or Gideon.
📍Other times God manifested His presence in locations, such as the Tabernacle or Temple.
📍God, however, wanted to manifest His special presence and glory in a continuous way in the midst of His people.
📍So He gave them a project to build a tabernacle that would be a place for God to dwell.
📍Because the glory was always there, the rabbis called it the Shekinah.
📍But sadly, in both corporate and individual life, God had to withdraw His presence because of sin.
📍Ezekiel saw God’s presence go up from the Temple and withdraw, but later,* God told Ezekiel that His presence would be restored among them forever.*

II. Beautiful picture : God is with us!

🔥Just as David says, no matter where one might go on earth, under the earth, or in space, God is there.
Psalm 139: 7-10

A. GOD IS WITH US AT ALL TIMES
✨Immanuel, “God with us,” came so that He could always be among us. Jesus came to earth so we would never be abandoned.

B. JESUS PROMISED HE WOULDN’T LEAVE US
🕊John 14:16-18 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another [Paraclete] to…be with you forever
🕊John 14:20 (Jesus says) “On that day you will realize that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you.”
🕊Matthew 28:20 (Jesus says) … “And remember that I am always with you until the end of time.”

C. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS OUR GUARANTEE

  1. Eph. 1:13-14; “When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
    (2 Cor. 5:5; 1 Cor. 1:22; 2 Tim. 1:14).

III. The final Fulfillment

☄️*After the Second Coming of Christ will dawn a glorious period when Christ will rule and reign on this present Earth for 1,000 years. *

☄️All the Promises to Israel of their land, peace, and King will be fulfilled.

*♥️LIFE LESSONS*
💥God sent down His Spirit so that now our bodies are to be the Temples of God (1 Cor. 3:16), filled with His Spirit, and the greatest compliment others could say of us is Jehovah-shammah, “The Lord is there!”
💥*The chief characteristic about Jerusalem will be Who lives there! *
💥His presence will flood the city with Glory.
💥God is always WITH you and me… IN you and me; AROUND you and me and OVER you and me.
💥His name, Jehovah-Shammah is His promise that He is and will always be with us!

🌈THANK YOU JEHOVAH SHAMMAH🌈

Rewards for our service

Ezekiel 44:10 reveals something crucial – Levitical priests, who had wept for the way the people abandoned God, but who had followed these people doing what they wanted.

Why did they do what the people wanted? Maybe they wanted the popularity or the money or they were forced to do so, like Aaron in Exodus 32.

Whatever their reason, they knew they were sinning hence their tears. They knew they had abandoned the God of Israel. As a result, they had to bear the consequences of their sin (Eze 44:12-14). They could only do menial work around the temple and could never go near God as priest.

Only the Levites who wept AND remained steadfast to God when Israel went astray, could minister to Him (Eze 44:15).

God knows what is in our hearts (1 Cor 4:5) and He will reward us according to our deeds (Rom 2:6).

Holy Spirit, nudge us and guide us to serve our Father always even when our family, friends and christian leaders are wrong. In Jesus’ name we ask this, Amen.
