The Book of Ezekiel 21-23 ❇️

🍂 Chapter 21 🍂
God wanted Ezekiel to preach against the children of Israel. God was going to draw His sword to cut off the righteous and the wicked. The sword would flash like lightning. The king of Babylon will strike and take the people as captives. Lying, divination and false visions will only bring the sword. The Lord said they will be remembered no more.

🍂 Chapter 22 🍂
Jerusalem’s sins – The city was being judged for blood shed and detestable practices. Father and mother were treated with contempt. The alien, widows and the fatherless were oppressed. They had despised the holy things and desecrated the Sabbath. They had forgotten their God by their sexual immorality and bribes. God was going to blow on them with His fiery wrath. The priests did not distinguish between holy and common. Justice was denied.

🍂 Chapter 23 🍂
Two sisters stand for Ohola which was Samaria and Oholibah which was Jerusalem. They engaged in prostitution and idolatory. God would stir up against her the Babylonians, Assyrians and the Chaldeans. They will be punished by them. They had to bear the consequence of their lewdness and prostitution. They were given over to terror and plunder. Their sons and daughters would be killed and their houses would be burnt. Then they would know their Sovereign Lord.

Eze 21:3. Thus says the lord Behold I am against you and will draw my sword from its sheath and will cut off from you both righteous and the wicked.

Righteous person is not exempted from suffering Some members of the righteous remnant, including Ezekial has not escaped the judgement of deportation.

In natural disasters, the righteous and the wicked suffer alike. But God would take special note of the righteous individuals and protect their lives. But the righteous will not experience the eternal judgement of the wicked Eze 18
