To be of Use for God Requires Sacrifice
Ezekiel 24:15-27
God is love, and He loves His creation, so much so that he sent His one and only Son to die in order to redeem it back from sin. This God of love, wants all to repent of their sin, and come to a saving knowledge of His Son Jesus. And He has chosen to use us as part of the redemption story.
But we have seen that the privilege of being apart of this salvation process usually comes at some sacrifice on the part of God’s followers. We cannot have our way, and still follow His way. Our sinful and corrupt hearts are not the same as His holy and purely loving heart.
Punishment of the countries near Judah
– Ezekiel 25:1-17
In the ancient world, all the nations had different gods. People often thought that their gods were only powerful in their own nations. Really, their gods had no power. The *LORD is the only real God.
He created heaven and earth.
So, he is the judge of every nation. And he told Ezekiel to declare his judgement against the nations that were near Judah.
Punishment of Tyre and Sidon
– Ezekiel 26:1-28:24
God told Ezekiel to declare his (God’s) judgement against the great commercial cities called Tyre and Sidon. These cities had become very wealthy and very proud. In fact, they were so proud that God compared their king to Satan (the devil). This passage is also similar to Revelation chapter 18. That chapter is about the end of the great commercial powers that rule the world.
THE GLORY OF THE MAJESTIC SHIP TYRE
Ezekiel 27:1-11
How the fall of Tyre should be matter of terror to some and laughter to others, according as they were differently interested and affected. Some shall be sorely afraid, and shall be troubled, concluding it will be their own turn to fall next. Others shall hiss at her, shall ridicule her pride, and vanity, and bad management, and think her ruin just. She triumphed in Jerusalem’s fall, and there are those that will triumph in hers. When God casts his judgments on the sinner men also shall clap their hands at him and shall hiss him out of his place, Job. 27:22,
Job. 27:23 . Is this the city which men called the perfection of beauty?
