Genesis 29:31:- “When the Lord saw that Leah was not loved …”

As Genesis 29 opens with Jacob reaching his destination of Paddan-aram.

There he saw shepherds and their sheep around a well with a large stone covering its opening.

In short time, Jacob met Rachel—the daughter of his uncle Laban—whom he would fall in love with and marry.

Jacob made an agreement to serve Laban seven years for the opportunity to marry Rachel.

At the end of the seven years, there was a marriage feast, with its usual eating and drinking.

Laban deceptively gave Leah, instead of Rachel, to Jacob.

Leah was in such a difficult position.
She was married to a man who did not love her.

As we read the story of Leah in the Bible, she was described as “weak-eyed.”

God noticed that Leah was unloved by those who should have loved her most — her husband, Jacob;
—- her sister, Rachel;
—-her father, Laban.

Some of us know the pain of family rejection all too well.

Leah might have been forgotten and unloved by her family,
…. but she was not forgotten or unloved by God.

Leah gave birth to six sons and a daughter.

Leah is a great example of how to handle disappointment.

Remember- When God is in the picture there is none as an unloved person.

The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 31:3: “I have loved you with an everlasting love.”

God knows our heartache and loves us dearly.
Even if others treat us as second best, God loves us and has a plan to use us and bless us.

Keep our focus on Him and his love
