Joseph’s stairways to exaltation

📖 Genesis Chapter 41
Joseph’s life is pinballed from the pit of despair to the heights of power and influence. Yet his ability to rise up above betrayal , disappointment, pain, loneliness , humiliation and injustice had prepared Joseph to serve in positions of authority.

✅ Joseph’s suffering severed him from his family but offered him the opportunity to seek God in darkness and later offer his brothers the forgiveness ( 45:4-7) .

✅ The prison removed him from the comforts of wealth and status but offered him the opportunity to cultivate his leadership abilities and use his gifts in the life of Pharaoh himself.

✅ The lessons of the pit and the prison were critical to Joseph’s successful leadership , and he stewarded well those experiences to become a servant leader.
👉🏽 Joseph’s experience from PIT to PALACE and then to PRISON , and back to PALACE is very challenging passage . He was a man of integrity ; sincere and God fearing . God lifted him up to the second-in-command in Egypt ( 41:41- 44 )
📌 We wonder what the Egyptians thought when a despised Hebrew was exalted over them ! Yet over the years God had been preparing Joseph for this role . Paul writes , ” Be very careful .. how you live – making the most of every opportunity..” ✒ Eph 5:15-16 .
Let us consider some of the skills he had acquired during his years of suffering :
He had learnt Egyptian language, habits, court etiquette while he was in Potiphar’s home; he had learnt to handle responsibilities, servant leadership and management.

📌 God never calls someone to service without preparation whom he has chosen.

💕 Beloved, let us learn some important lessons from Joseph’s life :
》 Even when he was at his lowest points , Joseph still choose to believe that God is with him.
》 Joseph was committed to moral integrity , even when it meant that it would cost him his freedom.
》 Joseph was prepared not only to fully forgive those who had betrayed him , but even to seek their best interests .
》 Joseph learned early the importance of investing – relationally , materially and financially.

📌 Our God is great and able .. He will lift us out of the slimy clay ; He will set our feets on the rock and will give us a firm place to stand ; He will put a new song into our mouths- a hymn of praise to our God 🙌

Glory to God 🙏
