BE A BLESSING

๐Ÿ“• Genesis 30 : 27

Jacob stayed with his uncle Laban for a period of 20 years (Gen 31:38) , and now he wanted to go back to his homeland ( Gen 30:25-26) . Let us ponder upon what Laban said , ” โ€ฆ The Lord has blessed me because of you ( Jacob) ” Gen 30:27b . In other words Jacob was a blessing to Laban. The Bible records states that the Lord was faithful, for wherever Abraham, Isaac and Jacob moved the blessings follows and the people acknowledge it ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿ“Œ Laban did not want to loose Jacob because he was being blessed through him. His affairs were prospering because the Lord was with Jacob.
The fact that Laban knew it by divination confirms that Laban ( and his family) did not have faith like that of Abraham.
Although they acknowledge God, they were also influenced by superstition. I called it Labanism.
Labanism still prevails in the Christendom. The Christian families who had been attached / influenced with the traditions of pagan worship may exercise these practices.
As a child of God , we have to be careful that traditions and practices does not become a stumbling block in our growth in God’s family.

๐Ÿ“Œ In today’s reading portion it is clear that the offspring of Abraham were a source of blessing ( Gen 12:2 )

Shall we stopped to be a blessing to others ? If we do then we are against God’s command .

๐Ÿ“Œ Jesus said , ” It is more blessed to give than to receive. ” Acts 20:35b
Be blessed โ€ฆ
Be a blessing โ€ฆ

๐Ÿ™Shall we proclaim that we are Blessed to be a Blessing to the Blessed People ๐ŸŒท

Glory to God ๐Ÿ™
