It is interesting to study the life of Joseph as everything about him was different. He stood out differently in Jacob’s family.

🤰 His Birth 🤰
The birth of Joseph was different. All the other children in the family were born easily one after the other. Whereas Rachael the mother of Joseph was barren. She prayed and prayed for several years till God heard her prayers and granted her a son (Gen 30:22). Little did his mother knew that God made her pray for the son who was going to carry out a Specific, Special Mission.

🚸 His Brothers 🚸
Joseph was so different from his brothers who were quarrelsome, rude and tough. He had special dreams which his father kept in his mind (Gen 37:11). Joseph was his father’s favorite. Perhaps Jacob would have noted that Joseph was different from his other sons. All the children grew up in the same house and in the same atmoshpere. But Joseph was different from all his brothers. Did he grow up seeing and hearing his father talk with God that instilled faith and influenced him?

🚼 Victim of Injustice 🚼
Joseph was a victim of injustice. His own brothers sold him. He was wrongly punished by the wife of his master Potiphar. In prison he was forgotten by the chief butler whom he had helped. His young age was spent in hardship and trials.

Joseph was different. Because God was with him he was never alone. Joseph feared God and avoided sin. He preferred prison rather than getting stuck in sin. Moreover Joseph worked diligently wherever he was. He refused to wallow in self-pity. He learned to humble himself in the mighty hand of God. And focused on being the best wherever he was placed.

🎙️ If Joseph were to give a Lead Talk today he would encourage the young ones to lead a God fearing, holy life. Instead of searching for the perfect job, he would advice that whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.
