Isaiah 12:1 “You will say on that day: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me.”

Chapter 12, is a hymn of praise and thanksgiving.

These words were spoken by the prophet Isaiah to the people of Judah and, telling of the great rejoicing that will take place when the faithful remnant returns to Jerusalem.

Isaiah uses the phrase “on that day”, twice in this chapter, in verses 1 and 4, and 48 times in his prophetic writings.

These are days in which His people will exalt Him with praise, thanksgiving, and celebration.

The power of this phrase has the ability to strengthen our faith and deepen our relationship with God.

Isaiah knew what it was to go through storms and pain in his life.
The nation was in trouble because of rampant sin. Isaiah was trying to stand for God and that was causing discomfort and pain in his life.

What he was going through, every person who desires to stand with God goes through. None of us likes pain and discomfort. We live in a world filled with all sort of pains: physical, emotional, spiritual, social, etc.

In difficult situations or choices, We are often told to trust God. Trust is necessary to have a relationship with Him. If we can’t trust God, we aren’t going to willingly obey His calling on our life.

EVERY TIME WE WORRY ABOUT SOMETHING, IT IS SHOWING A LACK OF TRUST IN GOD.

EVERY TIME WE TRY TO TAKE A SITUATION INTO OUR OWN HANDS, IT SHOWS A LACK OF TRUST.

EVERY TIME WE QUESTION WHAT GOD IS CALLING US TO DO, IT SHOWS A LACK OF TRUST.

So friends, ………..
…. What if we faced every difficult situation and decision by saying, I HAVE CONFIDENT EXPECTATIONS OF WHAT GOD IS GOING TO DO.”

The power of this sentence is very strong

*Walk into every situation with confident expectations that God is going to…..
…….. help us,
…. protect us, and \
…… support us—
………… this is how we trust God.

God Keeps His Promises

Isaiah 7:14; 9:6 –7;

What a coincidence that we are in the advent period (the first season of the Church year, leading up to Christmas and including the four preceding Sundays) and reading the good news in the chapters of Isaiah!!

The story of the birth of Jesus didn’t begin in the New Testament; it was foretold—prophesied—hundreds of years before. God made a promise, and He kept it. God’s prophecies become reality, and His words are truth.

Oh, the treasures to be found in the Old Testament! The Christmas story of the virgin who conceived, the little town of Bethlehem, and the Savior born to deliver the world is easily found in the New Testament gospels, but the details were foreshadowed with specificity by the prophets Isaiah and Micah. Old Testament prophets served as God’s mouthpieces to communicate future events and to compel God’s people to repent and turn back to Him. Rather than allow His people to languish in spiritual starvation, God extended warnings and opportunities for repentance. No wonder, then, that in the insignificant town of Bethlehem (“house of bread”), the Bread of Life was born.

Scripture shows us that God fulfills biblical prophecies exactly as He said He would—further evidence of the absolute truthfulness of God’s Word. And because the Bible is completely truthful, we can rely wholly on its message of love and salvation of God’s people through Jesus Christ.

God will not forget His promises.
