God’s Expectation ๐Ÿ”ฅ

The last chapter of the Book of Isaiah says about the people whom God esteems high. The way God sees is entirely different from that of people. Men see the outward appearance whereas God looks at the inner virtues.

๐Ÿ“– Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?โ€ declares the Lord . โ€œThese are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word (Isaiah 66:2).

God looks with favour at the humble, contrite in spirit and those who tremble at His word.

๐ŸŒน The Humble ๐ŸŒน
The humble are the those who don’t have a high opinion of themselves. The humble doesn’t make others feel low. Their talk and walk are without pride. God is not for the proud but He cares for the humble. God opposes the proud but shows favour to the humble (Jam 4:6).

๐ŸŒน The Contrite ๐ŸŒน
The word contrite means to be regretful, remorseful. Those with a contrite spirit acknowledge their short comings before God. They repent, feel sorry and surrender themselves at God’s Presence. Having a contrite spirit is a mark of spiritual maturity.

๐ŸŒน The Trembler ๐ŸŒน
Tremble at God’s word is not confessing or claiming His word. It is not saying His word repeatedly. But the person who trembles at God’s word is cautious to do what they the Word says. His life reflects the Word of God. It is built on the Word of God. His actions tally with the Word of God.

Dear ones in Christ, we expect God to look at us with favour. God is willing but He expects us to be humble, contrite in spirit and tremble at His Word. Are you ready to live according to His expectations?

God bless us to be channels of blessings.
