Lu’ci-fer’s downfall

Isaiah 14
❇️ How are you fallen from heaven, O Lu’ci-fer, son of the morning! how are you cut down to the ground (v12)
❇️ I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High (v14)
❇️ Yet you shall be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit (v15)
❇️ Prophet Isaiah here describes the fall of Lu’ci-fer from heaven who later became Satan. Isaiah mentions the pride of Lu’ci-fer and his greed to be like God the Most High in v14 which actually cost him his position in heaven and brought down to hell (v15)
❇️ Lord Jesus Christ himself confirmed this downfall of Satan in Luke 10:18 where he says,” I saw Satan fall like lightening from heaven “
❇️ From this we know that the proud will bite the dust. Prov.16:5 says, God detests the proud and hence opposes them but gives grace to the humble (Jam.4:6)
❇️ Pride makes us arrogant and we tend to look down on others. We become proud due to our ego (edge God out).We need to deal with our ego and pride in the following ways.

▶️ crucify our ego daily.
▶️ Seek the gift of wisdom from God which gives us humility (Jam.3:13) an antidote for pride.
▶️ In humility consider others better than ourselves (Php.2:3)

✅ Insights learnt:
▪️Lucifer’s downfall was due to his pride
▪️God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble
▪️Ego is to be crucified daily
▪️Wisdom makes us humble
