Precious Promises

💠 Precious Promises 💠

There are several wonderful verses in Isaiah that are encouraging and comforting. These promises uphold and uplift us.

📖 You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall (Isa 25:4).

To be frank, the Book of Isaiah has several chapters that are difficult to understand. But embedded among the difficult passages are the Precious Promises of God. They lie intact and quiet but so comforting and consoling. We need to read each chapter slowly and carefully to cherish and relish the Promises.

Dear ones in Christ, Christian life has struggles and difficulties. The path seems to be long, dark and endless. But in the midst of troubles we taste the Goodness of God. We are endowed with His mercies. His promises are a great encouragement. It makes the tough going easy and worthwhile. Don’t give up half way through. Greater things are yet to come.

📖 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you (Isa 26:3).

God bless us to be channels of blessings.

Isaiah: 22 – 27
Simple thoughts for
deeper meditation.

Isaiah: 25: 1

“Lord, You are my God, I will
exalt you and praise Your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done
wonderful things, things planned long ago”

Isaiah 25 opens with a
call to worship and praise God. When we go through the whole chapter, we see that here praise is offered for acts of judgment.

⚡ I have read the testimony
of a woman named Ruth.
Since she suffered with cancer several years ago,
Ruth has been unable to eat,
drink or even swallow properly. She has also lost a
lot of her physical strength,
and numerous operations and treatments have made
her very weak.

Yet Ruth is still able to
praise God, her faith remains strong, and her joy
is infectious. She relies on
God daily, and holds on to
the hope that she will recover fully one day. She prays for her healing and is
confident that God will answer- soon or later.
What a great faith !

Ruth says that what keeps her faith strong is the
secure knowledge that God
will not only fulfill His promises in His time, but will also sustain her until that time.

⚡ Here this was the same hope that Isaiah and the God’s people had as they
waited for Him to complete
His plans, (V:1) deliver them
from their enemies, (V:2) and wipe away their tears,
remove their disgrace, and
” swallow up death forever”
(V: 8)

⚡ In the meantime, God
gave His people refuge and
shelter as they waited. (V:4)
He comforted them in their
painful experiences, gave them strength to endure, and gave them assurane that He was there with them.

When we consider all the
wonderful things that God does silently on our behalf
each day, how much more we have to praise Him !

*God keeps giving us
reasons to praise Him
