Jesus the Alpha & the Omega is everlasting. From everlasting to everlasting, He is God.

There is nothing temporary about Him. He is not a stop-gap solution.

Cassette tapes, telegrams, typewriters and a whole-host of things have been replaced with something better. But Jesus will never be replaced by something “better”. He created all things, and is making all things new… BUT…
Jesus doesn’t change–yesterday, today, tomorrow, He’s always totally Himself. [Heb 13:8 MSG]

A “Father” gives life:
✴️ Now Christ Jesus has come to show us the kindness of God. Christ our Savior defeated death and brought us the good news. It shines like a light and offers life that never ends. [2Tim 1:10 CEV]

A “Father” loves:
💞 I’ve loved you the way My Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love. [John 15:9 MSG]

A “Father” provides:
🎁 Out of His fullness, we have all received grace on top of grace. [John 1:16 TLV]
🎁 Christ gave each one of us a special gift. Everyone received what He wanted to give them. [Eph 4:7 ERV]

Lord Jesus, thank You for being the unchanging, eternal, indestructible, immovable anchor of our souls. Thank You for loving us with an everlasting, incorruptible love. Amen.

The third advent candle; Joy

Yesterday, many lit the 3rd advent candle. It symbolises, Joy. It is called the Shepherd’s candle as it refers to their joy when they heard the news announced by the angel, that Christ had come. In many churches, this candle is pink which means joy.

The order of the candles may vary in different churches, but the overall message of the advent candles remains the same: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [ faith ], so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” (Rom 15:13).

Isaiah 11 and 12, focus on joy. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit; we draw His life giving water with joy from the wells of salvation (Is 12:3).

We rejoice in the Lord because He is the just Judge (Is 11:3). We rejoice because under His banner, we find peace (Is 11:10, 12). We rejoice because whatever valleys we walk though, His hand is covering us (Is 11:11).

Sometimes, being joyful is tough. Let us train ourselves to lift our eyes over the sun. Let us look at Him who sustains us now and WILL come again, as a conquering King, to give us everlasting peace.
