A blessing in Disguise ๐ŸŽŠ

Jeremiah Chapter 9
๐Ÿ› Repentance in humility leads to great anointing.
๐Ÿ› Biblically speaking, Humility has a lot to do with fasting and vise-versa.

๐Ÿ› Fasting had to do with mourning.
*But why as believers should we mourn? *
Why should we weep over our sin?

  1. Sin is deadly (James 1:15)
โ˜ ๏ธThen desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.
    (James 5)
  2. Sin is defiance against a holy God
๐Ÿ“ Sinning is believing a false promise from the world, above a true promise from God.
๐Ÿ“ Though justified by the blood of Christ, we are still infiltrated with sin, and most of the time we appear okay with it.
    ๐Ÿ“We need help.
    ๐Ÿ“We need reminders.
๐Ÿ“Hereโ€™s one: Rom 8:13โ€ฆ.For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
๐Ÿ“The gospel becomes glorious when the depth and power of our sin is understood as grievous.
๐Ÿ“The horror of our sin magnifies the beauty of Christโ€™s sacrifice.
๐Ÿ“But instead of killing our sin we are feeding it.
๐Ÿ“Instead of loathing our sin we are loving it.
๐Ÿ“Instead of destroying our sin we are desiring it.
๐Ÿ“The result: We belittle the cross and deceive ourselves.

Some Ways to Mourn Over Our Sin.

  1. Spiritual mourning names particular sins.
๐Ÿ“Œ Stating them clearly without excuse and without evasion.(eg)Admitting that we are proud, jealous, liars, etc
๐Ÿ“Œ Admit they are an offence against God.
๐Ÿ“Œ Letโ€™s get used to identifying particular sins when you read the Bible.
๐Ÿ“Œ We will begin to see what God sees, and we will get to know what grieves and offends him.

Once we have named the sin as being really in us, we are ready to enter into spiritual mourning.

  1. Spiritual mourning involves heartfelt sorrow.
If we take a long, hard look at the cost of this sin, we will enter more deeply into spiritual mourning.

First letโ€™s think about other sins into which the sin we are mourning has led us: sins of deception and pretence.

Then letโ€™s consider what this sin of ours has cost others.
Finally, letโ€™s think about how costly the sin we are mourning was for Jesus, as he bore our transgressions on the cross.

  1. Spiritual mourning is infused with hope.
When God shines the light on our sins, his great purpose is to lead us to Jesus, the friend of sinners.

โœ๏ธ In JESUS we will find hope.
Hope is a signature mark of spiritual mourning, and it arises from faith in Christ and all that he has accomplished through the cross.

  1. Spiritual mourning will lead you to forsake sins.
Spiritual mourning is the key to breaking sinโ€™s compulsive power.
No wonder, spiritual mourning is a blessing.โ€ผ๏ธ

โ™ฅ๏ธ LIFE LESSONS
๐Ÿ’ฅIf we do this work of spiritual mourning thoroughly, we will have strength to overcome the sin that has defeated us, and to forsake it at the cross.

๐Ÿ’ฅFor habitual addictions, spiritual mourning will be the key to breaking its compulsive power.

SHALL WE ENJOY THIS BLESSING OF SPIRITUAL MOURNINGโ“

TAKE TO HEART

๐Ÿ”นComing Back *I have been designed by a loving Creator, who has given me every reason to want to come home. *In His presence there is hope, love, lasting protection, and fullness of joy*.

Away from Him there is temporary pleasure, but eternal loss and despair. Jeremiah reminded us that even the birds live according to the times and places and ways that the Lord has built into them. Only man seems determined to run to his own self-destruction.
Truth is: It’s never too soon to come back to God.

๐Ÿ”นGetting to Know Him – It takes a lifetime to get to know someone well. The same is true in getting to know God. Jeremiah said that if we are to โ€œgloryโ€ or boast in anything, it should be that we know God. I cannot learn all there is to know about the Lord in a few weeks, months, or even years.

Itโ€™s an ongoing process that involves reading and studying His Word, praying, and learning from other believers. Begin spending time with the Lord now. Make Him a priority in our daily schedule. And He will make Himself known to us in new and exciting ways.

Truth is: Time spent with God is time well spent.
All Glory to Lord Jesus Christ.

Simple thoughts for๐Ÿ’ซ
deeper meditation.

Jeremiah: 8:11

“They act as if my people’s
wounds were only scratches
“All is well” they say, when all is not well”

Jeremiah delivers a
a devastating message of
coming punishment to the people of Judah. He specifically pointed out God’s judgment of sin includes loss of spouse and
property (V:10) failed crops
(V.13) and overwhelming
terror (V15)

โšก Why such destructive
punishment? They have
mishandled the law of the
Lord (V:8) Jeremiah continues by saying that they have no wisdom since they have rejected the word
of the Lord ( V:9 )

โšก Jeremiah reminded
the people that God had said, “Obey me, and I will be
your God and you will be my
people” (Jer: 7:23 ) Yet they
repeatedly ignored the Lord
and His commands. Their
false prophets said, ” Peace,
peace, when there is no peace.” ( 8:11) but Jeremiah predicted disaster. Jerusalem fell later.

โšก But in the midst of dreadful prophecies we discover a God who loves relentlessly. He said, ” I have loved you with an everlasting love,
I will build you up again”
(Jere: 31:3-4)

โšก God is a God of love and peace. Conflict comes
because of our rebellion against Him. The same thing is happening in the world now. Sin destroys the world’s peace and it takes away our inner peace.

Jesus came to the world
to reconcile us to God and to give us that inner peace.
Paul says, ” Since we have
been justified through faith, we have peace with God,
through our Lord Jesus
Christ “.(Rom: 5:1 )

In view of the above facts
we need to do two things:

โšก Scripture is not something to be treated
lightly. In the Bible God
reveals Himself and His plan for humanity’s
redemption. It’s a promise to be treated with utmost
respect.

โšก When we have no peace
accept the fact and find out
the reason for that. Reconcile with God and man
so that Christ’s peace come
into our heart.
He is our peace.
