Day 166, 270 Days Bible Reading, Sunday, 27.12.20. ✒

The Word of God will bring Joy and Delight in the midst of the Lockdown as long as we eat and digest with understanding… Jeremiah 15:16.

📖 Christmas 2020 is the closest Christmas to the first Christmas in Bethlehem. For generations we have been celebrating Christmas that is not scriptural. The first Christmas was celebrated without any tree or decorations. It was a silent, holy night, with stars giving the light to the path to the manger holding the Word of Life. Mary and Joseph, feeling isolated, socially distanced, rejected and facing all other kinds of turmoil, had only poor shepherds to visit them first and later had the royalties from the East.

📖 This Christmas we are going through so much hardship and turmoil, rejection and social isolation. Are we giving them company with our visits? Jesus asked us to give the ones who cannot give us anything back, but our gifts went to those who gave us back. We invite those who invite us back. Should the first Christmas be what we should remember when we celebrate Christmas? The Covid-19 virus has taught us that we can still celebrate Christmas joyfully because we are the reason for the season. Jesus came for US! The Word came to us and we got to eat and be delighted in the Word which will give more joy than all the Christmas Lunches in the world.

📖 God’s Word has to be Discovered and Digested before we can Delight with a Heartful of Joy. The Word of God is not a Fast-Food Snack but a Wholesome Meal, the Bread of Life. Your words were found and I ate them, and Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts, Jeremiah 15:16.

📖 Jeremiah received the Prophetic Word of God Joyfully, when he had a challenging time Prophesying to the people of God who had forsaken His Ways. His Listeners hated him not because he was a bad person. They became his enemies because he was Faithful to God. Jeremiah was able to rejoice in the Word of God because of the honour he received from God as His Prophet. How could he keep his Joy Level so high in the midst of discouraging situations?

📖 His inward reception for the Word of God made him find God’s Word. Only those who seek can find, Matthew 7: 7. Jeremiah’s heart was always in the receiving mode. Even when he questioned God about the people who were not going to listen to him, his heart was always discovering God’s Word. After discovering and finding God’s Word, he eats it.

📖 How does he eat and digest God’s Word?

📖 When he is able to reflect, meditate, think through, analyse, ponder on God’s Word. He takes time to digest and nourish his soul. As the Mouth receives food for the body, the Soul receives the Word for Faith. A Believing Soul will Love the Word which is the Bread of Heaven. The Believing Soul will dwell upon it and meditate day and night, Joshua 1:8, to Nourish the Spirit for Spiritual Growth. It will desire for the sincere Milk of the Word, 1 Peter 2:2.

📖 Let us learn from the secret of Jeremiah’s inner life so that we too can rejoice wholeheartedly when we discover the Truth of God’s Word.

📖 Child of God, Remember this, a person who Delights in the Word of God will be able to serve God by choosing to utter worthy Words when living in a culture surrounded by worthless words, by being God’s spokesperson by eating and delighting in the Word Daily, Jeremiah 15:19.

📖 Can we express ourselves as Jeremiah did in this Lockdown without complaining about all the restrictions? We got to redesign the way we are going to do the mission in this lockdown. We have to reinvent how to bring this Word of Life to those around us. God’s Word is always available to us to see, hear and speak. But, we have to inquire, attend, understand, commit it to our memory to experience their intended and beneficial effects for us to be filled with joy so that we can share this joy of the Lord that comes through understanding the Word, Nehemiah 8:10.

📖 The Word of God is full of the Mind of God. It is Designed for us to Understand His Mind and Will. It is not Designed to be used ignorantly. We must understand the Word of God’s immense importance, the intense applicability, and the impressive power which will result in Unspeakable Joy and Delight… Amen. 🙏
