Fatherless & Widow ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง

In the midst of judgement and wrath, there is a special verse that stands apart. It says about a special category of people.

๐Ÿ“– โ€˜Leave your fatherless children; I will keep them alive. Your widows too can depend on me.โ€™โ€†โ€ (Jer 49:11)

God has a special care for the fatherless and the widow’s.
Fatherless
– There are children whose father die when they are young. There are children who are deserted by their father. There are those who are denied a relationship with the father by their stepmother.

The Widow – A widow is a woman whose husband died or one deserted by her husband.

The pain endured by the widow and fatherless is great and intense. They are vulnerable to be cheated and taken advantage. But God sees their situation and He takes care of them.

God has a special care and concern for these two category of people. That is why Jesus was move with compassion for the widow of Nain and brought her dead son alive. Jesus loved the fatherless family of Martha, Mary and Lazarus.

Our God is a Father to the fatherless and a Defender of widows (Ps 68:5). He executes justice to the fatherless and the widow (Deu 10:18). And He wants us to:

โ–ซ๏ธ Bring justice to the fatherless and plead the widow’s cause (Isa 1:17)
โ–ซ๏ธ Do not mistreat or oppress the widow and fatherless (Ex 22:22; Zech 7:10).

To put it in a Nutshell the Bible says:
๐Ÿ“– Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world (Jam 1:27).

God bless us to be channels of blessings.
