Read and proclaim God’s word

๐Ÿ“– Jeremiah 50 & 51

๐Ÿ“ “When you (Seraiah) finish reading this scroll (Jer 50 & 51) tie a stone to it and throw it into the Euphrates” Jer 51: 63

๐Ÿ“Œ Jeremiah instructed Seraiah to:
๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ Go to Babylon and read the scroll (v 60b)
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Claim God’s judgement– Babylon will be desolate forever (v 26,62)
โžฐ Tie a stone around the scroll (v 63)
๐Ÿ“œ Throw the scroll into the Euphrates (v 63)
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Explain that Babylon and her people will sink (like the scroll) to rise no more(v 64).

๐Ÿ“Œ If the above scroll (Jer 50 & 51) would sink ,
โœ… Is it not amazing for us to read the same passage todayโ“
โœ… Was there a second scroll/copy โ“
Whatever would be the fact , Yahweh is able to preserve His Word.

๐Ÿ“ The record states that in Jer 36:23,27-28 Yahweh directs Jeremiah to make another scroll to replace the one Jehoiakim burnt ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿ“Œ God’s Word-the Bible has been the most hated of all books. Time and again kings and governments have sought to burn and abolish it. Yet Yahweh had preserved it for us today ๐Ÿ™Œ

โœ Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away ” Matthew 24: 35

Jeremiah: 50 – 52
Simple thoughts for๐Ÿ’ซ
deeper meditation:

Jeremiah 5l:55

“I am destroying Babylon and putting it to silence. The
armies rush in like roaring waves and attack with noisy
shouts”

In Chapters 46-51 we read of Jeremiah’s prophecies against the
foreign nations.

โšก Just as Jerusalem
received its punishment, these nations were sure to
receive theirs as well. The
order of the message is
according to the geographic
location of the countries,
and not according to the order of the events.

โšก In chapter 51 we read the prediction of the fall of
Babylon. This message was
sent by Jeremiah through
Seraiah to Babylon. (Vs:59-64)

โšก God will defend the cause of His people and punish Babylon, which unlike
Judah, will not be restored.
The prophet gives a warning
to the Jews who are captives in Babylon that they
must be prepared to flee the
city at the first opportunity.
The Almighty King will bring
down His judgment upon the
nations which rebelled against Him and treated His
people cruelly.

โšก Although God brings
good out of evil, he does not allow evil to remain unpunished. The wicked may succeed for a while, which may make us wonder
why God allows it. But let us
resist the temptation to follow them or to fight by our own strength.

โšก Like the Psalmist, let us
commit our ways to the Lord
trusting him to work on our
behalf, delighting in the
knowledge that he is King and he is our judge.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Lord, I understand that
the final judgment is yours.
So I abandon myself into
your hands, so that you can
take up my cause and grant
me victory in your time.
