Jeremiah 48:10 “Cursed is he who does the work of the Lord deceitfully,…“

Chapter 48 is the record of Jeremiah’s prophecy to Moab.
Moab was to be judged because of their idolatry, pride, and their harshness towards Israel.

The above verse is God’s command of the destruction of the Moabites.

That is why there is mention of bloodshed.
The command is so important that God has put a curse on the one who does not carry it out with diligence.

This verse is giving us a glimpse on the utmost importance of God’s work on earth.

This is a general rule, which may be applied to all divine work and service.

Our calling is not a profession, a job, or a hobby.
We are compelled by the Spirit of Christ to preach the message of salvation.

Such a task must be taken seriously, we dare not be negligent or deceitful.

If He calls us to a task, we are to do our best. To work as unto Him, with maximum energy, with excellence.

Today, think about God’s call on our life.
Use the unique resources and opportunities He has given us.

Don’t give up until we’ve finished the race and completed what God has called us to do.
Be a faithful servant!

Unwarranted trust
Jer 48:7,28-30,42

Since you trust in your deeds and riches, you will be taken captive….We have heard of Moab’s pride_ how great is her arrogance …and her boasts accomplish nothing… Moab will be destroyed.

The people of Moab’ bragged about their wealth and skill. This prophecy shows that wealth cannot buy security or happiness. Material possessions mislead us to be in control instead of God. Putting our trust in money leads to self sufficiency. They don’t depend on God., the only one who can save and only one we should trust.
