Takeaways:

John 5:14; “ Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you. The man went away and told the Jewish leaders that it was Jesus who had made him well.

Realize, Accept, Atone

Sometimes we feel irritated and confused about why we are being corrected. Once, twice even thrice is okay but oftentimes getting corrected squashes our self-confidence. Some people stay away from those who correct them. Others ignore them. There are different reactions to corrections.

How do you suppose God corrects you?

Correction comes through the scriptures, through our parents and elders in the church. God is magnanimous so it’s not difficult for Him to even make strangers correct us if those of family and friends are not close. Look out for the scripture filled corrections, lookout for those who speak for your good.

2 Timothy 3:16; All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

Proverbs 29:15; The rod and reproof give wisdom, But a child who gets his own way brings shame to his mother.

Don’t hold onto what you think is right. Listen to wise people and wise sayings. And be corrected, there is no shame in being corrected because it saves you from the everlasting fire. Because the scriptures have clearly mentioned that we are to realize, accept and atone for our sins to be forgiven and saved. Once forgiven we must at least attempt to not do the wrong we clearly have done once. God will multiply the power in that attempt to keep you protected but after being forgiven if you repeat the same God alone knows what will happen and it will not be good. Accept corrections and praise God for sending those corrections through proper channels.

Hebrews 12:6; Because the Lord corrects everyone he loves, and punishes everyone he accepts as a child.”
