John:6

❇️ Many Jews were not able to understand what Jesus was talking about and hence they called him demon possessed.

❇️ This lack of understanding was due to their ignorance of all the prophecies about our Lord and their disbelief in the word of God. This can be inferred from the following verses.

▪️Then they asked him,”What must we do to do the works God requires? (6:28)
▪️Jesus answered, “The work of the God is this; to believe in the one he has sent.”(6:29)

Further Jesus told them the following words
▪️I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life(6:47)
▪️I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of his bread,he will live forever (6:51)
▪️The word I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. Yet some of you do not believe (6:63 &64)

❇️ From the above verses one can infer that the word of God is living because they are spirit. They can cleanse us from our sinfulness (Jn.15:3) and can quicken us as they are spirit (Jn.6:63)

❇️ Thus we know those who did not believe the word of God because their minds were blinded (2 Cor.3:14), missed out on the eternal life.

❇️ Since Christ is the word of God we believe & love the word of God.When we love the word of God we will obey it (Ps.119:167). Our obedience will entitle us to claim the promises it offers.

❇️ Let us believe, love and obey the word of God to receive anything we ask from him (1Jn.3:22)

▪️Word of God is spirit and hence living
▪️Word of God cleanses and quickens us
▪️Word of God quicken those who are spiritually dead
▪️Obedience to God’s word is the key to receive anything we ask

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me John 6:37

This declaration involves the doctrine of election;there are some whom the Father gave to Christ.
It involves the doctrine of effectual calling.
They shall be brought out of darkness into God’s marvelous light.
If they come to Jesus, it teaches them the indispensable necessity of faith.
There is no other way to heaven but by the door, Christ Jesus.
All that the Father gives to our Redeemer must come to Him, therefore none can come to heaven except they come to Christ.

We can see the Power and Majesty which rest in the Words “Shall come”.
The Lord Jesus does by His messengers, His Word, and His Spirit, sweetly and graciously compel men to come in that they may eat His Marriage Supper.
How shall we know, whom God has chosen?
Who willingly and joyfully accept Jesus Christ and come to Him by faith.
They rest upon Him and their desire is Salvation.

Let us come to Jesus.
