Do I really believe in Jesus?

Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” (John 6:29)

What’s meant by “believe in Jesus Christ”?

In my view, it means:
I affirm that every word of Jesus Christ is trustworthy, so I abide by it without a second thought.

But if, I don’t abide by His words or if I abide by some of it and avoid the rest, then it proves that..
I don’t find Him trustworthy, so.. depend on my logical conceptions to choose: what to do and what not to.. hence I don’t believe in Christ Jesus.

Our God is wonderful; His works and His ways are unfathomable. We just have to believe, even if it seems illogical or impossible.

For example..
Jesus said:
“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. REJOICE AND BE GLAD, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Matt.5:11-12)

Jesus also said:
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But TAKE HEART; I have overcome the world.”
(John 16:33)

Can one rejoice, while in sufferings?
Can one think of being thankful to God for bringing difficult situations into life?
Can one be in peace in midst of tribulation?

These are completely illogical and impossible in human understanding, but not for those who believe in Jesus.

The apostles believed, so rejoiced when they were persecuted.
(Ref. Acts 5:40-41)

Let’s ask ourselves..
Do I really believe in Jesus?

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever BELIEVES in Him should NOT PERISH but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

Amen.
