God’s prophecy will surely come to pass

John the Baptist is an amazing man. Miraculously conceived, he was set apart for a holy purpose from the womb of his mother. John’s life is an example of humility, zeal for God’s work, and passion for delivering the message of God to His people. However, John tragically died because of correcting a king.

God’s prophecy will surely come to pass
The appearance of John the Baptist has long been prophesied in the Old Testament. The Bible tells us that God is the One who can declare a prophecy and has the power to bring it to pass even hundreds or thousands of years after proclaiming it.

Isaiah 40:3 foretold about the work of John:

“The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.”

And we read the fulfillment of this prophecy in Matthew 3:1-3:

“In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, and saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.”

From these fulfilled prophecies, we can have the confidence that God is truly the Living God who will do what He pleases. With these prophecies and many others fulfilled, we can be sure that the unfulfilled prophecies will also come to pass according to God’s perfect timing.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes

The Word and Life (John 1:1-5)
Jesus is Life –
in Him all natural and spiritual life is. He was the source of life in creation to plants, animals and all created things and now he is the source of the spiritual life we receive when we get born again

Jesus is Light –
Light enables us to see clearly and prevent the dangers that would result from being in darkness. Jesus is the light/guide/instructor of mankind (Isa 9:2, Jhn 8:12, Jhn 12:35, 9:5, 12:35,46)
He provides us with wisdom and guidance to navigate the world. Let’s not mistake this with the work of the Holy Spirit remembering that the Holy Spirit takes what is of Jesus and reveals it to us.
(Jhn 16:14)

Born Again (John 3:1-7)
There are many ways to enter into a religion but to be a true and genuine Christian, one must be born again. No one is a Christian if they are not bon again.

Holy Spirit baptism is the infilling and indwelling of the holy spirit in a believer. It is done by Jesus and is begins the purging of the old nature (Matthew 3:1)
John 3:6 clearly signifies what happens at baptism; we put off the fleshy nature and our nature is changed from within (2 Cor 5:17),
we become a new man, born of the spirit able to walk in the newness of life and ways of God. All men are by nature sinful (gal 5:19-20)
and no one can be renewed except by the spirit of God. The new birth makes one holy (1 Cor 5;47-49)

He must become greater ,I must become less Luke 3:30

John the Baptist bears testimony to the lord and has fine understanding of his own position in relation to christ. He points men to christ and then retires.

John’s willingness to decrease in importance shows humility. We should not put more emphasis on our own achievements than on God’ s kingdom John the Baptist motto was He must increase but I must decrease So shall we make that our life motto as well
