Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end

๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ”Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to departโ€ฆ. having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
John 13:1 ESV

“rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist.
John 13:4

Three and a half years, they were together, walked together, slept in the same house, were hungry, ate together, suffered together, may be laughed together. Jesus loved them so much. Knew each one’s weaknesses. He did not teach them to endure suffering. But He taught them to trust Him, love each other and to serve each other ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ”Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.”
John 13:20 ESV

The one I send – stands for the Holy Spirit
The one whe sent me – stands for Father God

๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ”The disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom he spoke.
John 13:22

It look like each one of them had an unbelieving heart- a betrayer, within themselves !

๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ”Then after he had taken the morsel, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, ” What you are going to do, do quickly.”
John 13:27

It was God’s command to satan to put all the sin of the world on to the Son of God. Satan did not have a choice other than to obey Him.
As for Judas, he became an instrument for this plan. As the money bag keeper of the group, out of the 12, satan could find an easy way to Judas.
After the whole thing happened, Judas had a choice to repent. His master would have forgiven him. He forgave the thief on the cross! The worse may happen in our life too. But our master is always waiting for us to make a choice to repent and come back to him.

๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ”Peter said to him, “Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”
John 13:37 ESV

Thank God for this impetuous man named Peter. If not for him, I wouldn’t have got the assurance of forgiveness

John 15:5

“I am the vine, you are the branches, he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”
๐ŸŒฑ Jesus is our source of spiritual growth . Just as the branches, receive its nourishment from the trunk and grows to become fruitful ( bears leaves and fruit) so also if we abide close to Jesus, we too will grow and bear fruit – fruit of the Holy Spirit. (love, joy, peaceโ€ฆ Galatians 5: 22-23)

๐Ÿฅ€ If we do not abide or take nourishment from Jesus (trunk) , we will get dried and become dead and will produce no leaves or fruit.
๐Ÿ‡ Let us unite ourselves in the love of Jesus so that we may be His fruitful branches that bear fruit throughout the year.
๐ŸŒด Lord Jesus, help us to see You as our true nourishing source (vine) and may we be pruned to grow more fruitful each day.

Amen.
