Truth shall make you free

John 8:32. You shall know the truth. The truth shall make you free.

Yes, we all may think that we are free and not under bondage. But let us search ourselves whether we are under these bondages.

  1. Sin. Whoever commits sin, is a slave of sin. John 8: 34.
  2. For curse.
  3. Power of darkness or devil.
  4. Loan. The borrower is servant to the lender. Proverb 22: 7.
  5. Troubles, distresses.
  6. Slaves of men. 1 Corinthians 7: 23
  7. Elements of the world or traditions. Galatians 4: 3 There are many more things for which we are under bondage.

But Jesus took the form of a bond servant and became the likeness of men to set us free. Philipians 2: 7.

Yes, how can we make us free?

  1. Truth will set us free. John 8: 32.
  2. If the son ( Jesus)makes us free, we shall be free indeed. John 8: 36.
  3. Where ever is the Spirit of the Lord, there is liberty. 2 Corinthians 3:17.

First of all, we should know the truth. Then only truth will make us free. Ifso, what is truth?

Your law is the truth. Psalm 119: 142. Your word is the truth. Psalm 119: 160. John 17: 17.
Ifso, reading, meditating, and knowing the word of God is very very essential for our life. If our body, soul, and our family to be delivered, we should know the word of God or truth and should obey to the word. He will send His word, and heal them and deliver them from their destructions. Psalm 107: 20. Yes, let us thank our Lord, who gave this truth ( Bible) in our hand.

Knowing the word of God should be the aim of our life. Let us obey to the truth, what we know. Yes, this truth will make us free. Amen. Hallelujah.

Life Changing Truth

“Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (Jn 8:32)

“The truth shall make you free.” ‘Free’ from what? Free from bondages to sin and to satan, physical, mental and spiritual bondages.

Here is the test of any teaching or doctrine. Whatever the truth you may believe in or teach, if it does not change your stubborn, proud and arrogant nature, there is something wrong with the teaching or with your understanding of it. “Acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness” (Tit 1:1). The living bible puts it as, ‘to lead them to the truth-the kind of truth that changes life.’ es, the test of the truth is in whether it changes our lives or not.

When Amy Carmichael was a young, girl, she was struggling to live a holy life, when she heard the verse ” Unto him that is able to keep you from falling,” Instantly her addled mind cleared, nothing ever mattered to her since then but things that were eternal. She dedicated her whole life to the Lord’s service and served as a missionary in India till her death.

Perhaps you know many doctrines and deeper truths; if they do not have any impact on your character, it’s all ‘vanity of vanities’.

“Freedom from all the carnal affections,
Freedom from envy, hatred and strife,
Freedom from vain and wordly ambitions
Freedom from all that saddened my life.

Stay Blessed 😊
Ravi

The promise of Jesus is clear.

John 8:32 “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free”.

In verse 31 and 32, Jesus says that those who abide in the Word will know the truth experientially.

Here the word “YOU”, refers to those who are true disciples of Jesus.
True disciples will know the truth.

Jesus is declaring that Discipleship is the only true path to freedom.
Freedom or Liberation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do we need liberation?
Are we tied up in bondage in this world?

The freedom Jesus offers is a spiritual freedom from the bondage of sin.

Here, Jesus promises that when we follow Him, hear His word, and continue in it, a wonderful thing will happen— the truth will set us free.
The truth will deliver us.

What does it free us from?

In practical terms it frees us from all our hang-ups.
Hang-ups are the same for everybody, everywhere.

Fear is probably the biggest one.
………… Being afraid, worried, anxious, insecure, timid, constantly threatened by anxiety …………
…………… Then there is anger, a hatred, aggressiveness and rage that keeps us striking out at everybody.
………… Then there is guilt. Millions of people suffer inwardly from a terrible sense of failure.
……… Pride is another hang-up;….. a proud, aggressive, arrogant behaviour*

Do we see how practical all these things are?
This is what Jesus is talking about.

Today, Jesus is promising that there is a way out.

Bring them to me, He tells us.
…. Bring them to me.
Listen to my words.
Look at life as I see it and a wonderful thing will happen:
………. there will be a change in us.

Let us be educated, wise enough to be liberated and step into the faith.

He wants us to have and live a glorious life.
