Achan Covetousness Destruction

Joshua 7:1
But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.

We live in a world filled with dissatisfied and greedy human  beings. Let us not be one of them.

As Joshua destroyed the entire family of Achan and even his animals, destroy even the appearance of evil from your life. Totally avoid fornication as well as all uncleanness and covetousness . Let it not even be named among you (Eph.5:2). No devil nor sin can stand before you all the days of your life.

It was a little covetousness for just 30 pieces of silver, that made Judas Iscariot the betrayer of our Lord. Beware of the love of money. Gehazi’s little greed made him a leper all the days of huis life.

“Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction”
“The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil,” “Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs” (1Tim 6:9,10).

Look at the way Jesus spoke about it: “Out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornication, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness…”(Mk 7:21,22).

Godliness with contentment is great gain.” 1 Timothy 6:6
When you are content with what you have, your relationship with God and others will be right, and you will have no desire to amass wealth or materials even if they are offered to you free. How then can you covet another man’s possessions!

Think that Christ has promised you
His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings,
  money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven
nor your home on high.”

Rejoicing in Him daily relieves us of coveting, leaving us contented. May Jesus redeem our heart’s desires, making us rich toward God!

Stay Blessed 😊
