If personal prayer was very important to Lord Jesus

As HE was praying…?

As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. (Luke 9:29)

Lord Jesus was praying alone by himself. He took his disciples with him, for each of them to spend time in personal prayer.

Personal prayer was KEY in Lord Jesus’ life

If personal prayer was very important to Lord Jesus, how much more to us?

The countenance (face) of Lord Jesus changed as HE was praying

Note: It didn’t change when HE was fasting, not when preaching, not when healing, not when driving away demons or while miracles were taking place.

The face changed when Lord Jesus was praying.

How many of our faces change when we pray?

And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground(Luke 22:44)

How many of us pray with burden in our hearts, with crushed spirits, put ourselves in the shoe of others while praying?

Are we moved by the situation of a person while praying? Does our sweat become blood while praying for ourselves or others?

Sadly, not many of us pray for ourselves with burden as we pray for others. It is not wrong to seek help in prayer, however its wrong, not to pray for ourself and ask someone to pray for our needs.

Most of us lost the essence of praying.

Prayer has become a 2 minute ritual than a powerful communication with the Almighty God.

Most of us forgot the fact that it is a divine exchange of weakness and strength that happens in prayer.

The eternal Almighty God imparts himself into us, the beings of flesh, made of dust during prayer.

Let us take PRAYER seriously.

Let us go into God’s presence, and pray:

Turn your cellphone off, keep yourself away from distractions

Still your thoughts, mind, spirit, body

Look at Lord Jesus during prayer then do the following:

(1) Examine yourselves, repent for the sins and wash yourself with the blood of Jesus
Sin hinders prayers, so we need to wash ourselves with blood of Jesus.
(2) Give thanks for all that our Lord has done.
Enter His courts with Thanksgiving (Psalm 100:4)
(3) Submit prayer requests
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God (Phil 4:6)
(4) Thank God in advance for all that HE would do
(5) End prayer by saying In Jesus name I pray Amen
(6) Sit silently looking at Jesus, wait patiently for God to talk to you for few mins.
(7)Thank God for talking to you.

When we pray like this without distractions and pour out our hearts in prayer, we start to see the appearance change, others will start to see our faces glow with the love and glory of God.

Prophet Moses’ face changed when he spent 40 days in prayer.

If we spend time without distractions in prayer looking at Lord Jesus, the glory will fill our lives and change our appearances too.

Let our faces be transformed into the likeness of Lord Jesus

God Bless You
