There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day,

But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who has laid at his gate,

desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

Luke 16:19-21.
We serve a God who fulfills the hearts desires of His children. The above scripture portion tells us that there was a certain man named Lazarus and his desire was to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. God did not limit Lazarus from desiring, but Lazarus limited God with his thinking, he was desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. God doesn’t limit us from thinking, desiring and praying, but we limit God with our desires, praying and unbelief.

Everything in the kingdom of God (both good or bad) starts with a desire, that is why the Bible says guard your heart with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life. Eve desired to eat from the tree of knowledge she not only ate, but gave it to Adam both of them fell taking the entire mankind along with them and it costed God His only Son Jesus. David instead of going to war looked and desired for Bathsheba and he committed adultery with her and he also planned for her husband’s murder. Solomon fell not because of the wealth, but because of his hearts desire, he couldn’t control his hearts desire (purely heart problem not money problem) and fell for foreign women and they turned him to their gods. When you open the doors of your heart to the devil, he will surely enter otherwise he cannot enter, the choice is in our hands to close or to open the door to the devil (tell the devil I will not open the doors of my heart and allow you to enter).

Jabez wanted to be blessed by God, so he prayed to Him Lord bless me left, right and centre, wherever I am and wherever I may go and he was blessed. The three wise men from the east had a desire to worship Jesus, so they came searching for Jesus with gifts, they saw Him, worshipped Him and went away. A man full of leprosy came to Jesus, fell on his face and implored Him saying ” Lord if You are willing, You can make me clean “. Jesus put out His hand and touched him saying I am willing be cleansed and immediately he was healed (Luke 5:12,13). Did Jesus say to him today I am busy and not willing ? but tomorrow I might be willing, so please come and see Me tomorrow. Jesus was always willing to heal the man and He healed him instantly.

The Bible says we have not, because we ask not and even if we ask we amiss, so that we may spend it on our pleasures. If we have a desire then we will ask God in prayer, but if we don’t have a desire then we will never pray about it. We limit God with our thinking, desires, actions, prayers and unbelief. God didn’t limit Lazarus from desiring, praying and believing, but Lazarus even though he knew God, he limited God he didn’t trust God for his provision, so he looked to the rich man’s table for his provision (knowing God is just the basic level, but trusting God for our provision is another different level), had Lazarus desired in his heart to sit beside the rich man and eat from his table along with him, God would have fulfilled his hearts desire.

Never limit God and His provision, He has a million ways to provide for His children. God fed the Israelites with food for forty years in the wilderness, when they started asking for meat in the wilderness, God promised them meat. Moses was wondering from where will God provide meat for such a big crowd, so he said to God not the Israelites and yet You have said “I will give them meat, that they may eat for a month”. Shall flocks and herds be slaughtered for them to provide enough for them ? Or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to provide enough for them ?. Moses forgot that when God opens His hands the entire creation is fed with every good thing. And the Lord said to Moses, Has the Lord’s arm been shortened ?. Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not (Numbers 11:21-23). God sent quail from the sea and the people stayed up all that day, all night the next day and gathered the quail.

God fed Elijah with bread and meat through ravens, then he sustained him in the time of famine through a widow woman and then He fed him directly through an angel. Jesus fed the five thousand men with just five loaves of bread and two small fishes with twelve baskets of leftovers.

Many of us when we go through problems and challenges in the area of provision, we don’t look to God for our provision, we doubt Gods provision for our lives, instead of looking to God we look at our career, businesses and known people for our provision. God is God, man is man, man may fail, but God will never fail, had Lazarus not looked to the rich man’s table, but looked to God for his provision, He would have fed him not with crumbs, but with the best Mutton Biryani, Chicken tandoori and diet Coke everyday for the rest of his life. Christian life and walk is supernatural, super over the natural, supernatural protection, supernatural provision, think desire and pray for the supernatural and it will flow to you. If you desire and pray, Jesus and you together will walk over your problems (when Peter and Jesus can walk on the water together why not Jesus and you ?).

Behold the Lord’s hand is not shortened, That it cannot save, Nor His ear heavy That it cannot hear.

Isaiah 59:1.
You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

Psalm 145:16.
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Phillipians 4:19.
Heavenly Father thank You for the word, thank You for the supernatural provision over our lives, give us the grace to always look to You for our provision. Lord we uphold every person who is going through a tough time in the area of provision meet their every need from Your kingdom riches. Thank You for all the past, present and future miracles in Jesus name we ask and pray.
