The Three Divine Visitations

  1. Zechariah’s Visitation:
Angel Gabriel visits Zechariah, announces the birth, the name, the bringing up and the calling of his son.(Luke 1:14-17)

However, Zechariah doubts saying How can I be sure of this?(Luke 1:18)

Zechariah being a priest knew Abraham and Sarah conceived in their old age. He had a biblical record of this kind of thing in Torah.

The Spirit of doubt in Zechariah led to punishment. He was dumb, unable to speak his doubt any longer that might hinder his miracle.

๐Ÿ›‘ DOUBT hinders our MIRACLES๐Ÿ›‘

2. Mary’s Visitation:
Angel Gabriel visits Mary, announces the birth, the name, the bringing up and the calling of his son.(Luke 1:31-33)

Mary questions the angel, How will this be as that kind of thing never happened in the human history. (Luke 1:34)

Mary submits to God’s will saying, โ€œI am the Lordโ€™s servantโ€. โ€œMay your word to me be fulfilled (Luke 1:38) confirmed by Elizabeth (Luke 1:45)

Mary received the word, accepted and submitted to it

  1. Elizabeth’s visitation: Mary visits Elizabeth. The Holy Spirit takes over Elizabeth, baby in Elizabeth’s womb, and Mary. All three rejoice in the Spirit and both the mothers sing to the Lord under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months and then returned home.(Luke 1:56)

These three months of togetherness must have been intense times of prayer and preparation for their own personal strength – to face the heart aches the moms would go through their sons ministries.

John the Baptist was beheaded and Lord Jesus was crucified. Both the mothers would definitely need divine strength to go through these.

We all long for heavenly visitations or visitations by people of God in our lives.

Are we prepared to receive the messages during these visitations?

Would we respond with doubt like Zechariah, or accept and submit to God’s will like Mary or rejoice at the announcement of birth of miracles like Elizabeth and Mary.

These are the last days during which God promised to pour out His anointing.

So, let’s prepare ourselves in prayer to submit to God’s will during such Visitations.

God Bless You

Rediscover Jesus in Luke’s pattern (Luke 1:1-4)

Luke, a medical doctor by profession (Col 4:14); a gentile by birth; an author of two NT books (Luke and Acts); a companion of Paul in his 2nd and 3rd missionary journey (Acts 16:10;20:6;27:1-2) and was with Paul in prison in Rome (2Tim 4:11).
Luke was also considered a historian, who wrote all about the First Century Christians, Persecution, Evangelism and the Church Growth.

๐Ÿ“Œ Dr Luke admitted that many people have tried to give account on the things that had happened / fulfilled among us (v 1)
๐Ÿ“Œ The eyewitnesses and those who were faithful in spreading the gospel gave him all the accounts (v 2)
๐Ÿ“Œ But Luke himself made a careful investigation from the beginning so as to have an orderly account (v 3)

โœ… LUKE DECIDED TO REDISCOVER JESUS CHRIST FOR HIMSELF.
โœ… LUKE NOT ONLY WROTE ABOUT THE BEGINNINGS OF CHRISTIAN RELIGION; HE TOOK PART IN IT AS WELL.
โœ… LUKE’S ACCOUNT HAS BECOME THE BASE TO UNDERSTAND THE PAULINE EPISTLES.

๐ŸŒˆ God’s inspiration does not come to the man who sits with folded hands but to the man who THINKS, SEEKS AND ACTS.

๐Ÿ“ Once Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do people say I am ?”. They replied, “John the Baptist, Elijah and one of the prophets “Jesus was not satisfied, and he asked them, “WHAT ABOUT YOU ? WHO DO YOU SAY I AM ?” Mark 8:27-29

๐Ÿ’• Beloved Church,
what do you say, “WHO CHRIST IS” โ“
We may KNOW ABOUT JESUS from other people, literatures and other sources but to KNOW JESUS is a personal and blessed one.

KNOWING JESUS and KNOWING ABOUT JESUS are two different things.

KNOWING JESUS as LORD and SAVIOUR is the ultimate Call.

Like Luke, let us REDISCOVER CHRIST FROM THE SCRIPTURES personally. All we need to do is to launch deep into His Words and to believe and to confess that JESUS CHRIST IS THE LORD โœ๏ธ

HIGHLY FAVOURED

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women” ( Lk 1:28 ).

Jesus was growing in Mary; and when she manifested Jesus, what a blessing she became! “From henceforth all generations shall call me blessed” ( Lk 1:48). From the day you manifest Christ to the world, generations are going to bless you.

When Jesus was manifested, while herod and the people were being greatly troubled, the heavenly hosts were rejoicing with great joy. When Christ is manifested through us there will be great rejoicing among the saints, but the devil and his emissaries will tremble.

Shepherds came to see the baby Jesus. When we manifest Jesus through our life, many shepherds will come. Many servants of God will arise; many will be inspired to step out to serve God – to save souls and nurture them into Christlikeness.

When Christ was manifested, many wise men came from afar. Precious souls will come to us from faraway places. They will not come with empty hands. They will open their treasures. If the wise men came all that way and found only Joseph and Mary, they would not have opened their treasures. How richly we will be blessed when we show Jesus to the world!

People are not interested in seeing us or in knowing about our greatness. People want to see Jesus. “Sir, we would see Jesus” ( Jn 12:21). This is the cry of people everywhere. But are we able to help them? How often we show our selfish nature, our quarrelling, complaining, etc! Sometimes, instead of showing Jesus, we show others how clever we are, how great or how well-educated we are!
