God’s people will not be answerable to those authorities in the Churches

Mark 11

As Jesus’ return draws near, a few things will be seen in this season similar to what was seen as Jesus headed towards Jerusalem in that day, and as He sought to fulfill prophecy by asking for a colt to be brought to Him, for Him to ride on, Zechariah 9:9, Mark 11:1-6.

Thus, just as the colt became an instrument for Jesus to ride on, similarly, humble, unassuming people will be loosed by the Lord from the shackles of traditional thinking which contradicts His Word, and be used in this season for Jesus to ride on in order to accomplish His work. They will be given special mantles for this purpose too.

Those in the crowd who welcome Jesus to dwell in their midst, and hail Him as Saviour and Lord of their lives and call on His Name in faith will receive salvation, vs 7-10. At this time, the Lord will observe all that needs to be cleansed in His Church, vs 11, and will curse to the roots all that has a form of godliness but fails to display the power of God that should be backing up that claim, vs 12-14, 20,21; and it will be brought to an end! The Church, which is the body of Christ, will be given this authority to curse similar ‘fig trees’ that are fruitless and have only form of godliness but lack the power of God to back their claims.

Forgiveness from our hearts, towards those who have harmed us in any way, will be the hallmark of all such believers, vs 22-26! Thus, God will use such believers who are pure in heart to cleanse His Church of all the money changers and buyers and sellers of merchandise who have made His house into a den of robbers so that, once again, His house can be transformed into a house of prayer for all Nations! However, these things will incite those who are exposed and who refuse to turn from their sin, and they will be against the true disciples of Jesus, vs 15-18!

Further, in this season, God’s people will not be answerable to those authorities in the Churches, who refuse to be honest and repent of their sins, and so refuse to turn away from their hypocrisy, but yet demand as to what authority God’s people are using to cleanse God’s house, vs 27-33!

Just as Jesus studied the prophetic books of the Old Testament and did what they said, so also, we too must recognise the time that we are living in and likewise follow His example. Let us who have ears to hear, say just as Jesus did, ‘Here I am: I have come – it is written of me in the scroll of the book – to do your will, O God.’” Hebrews 10:7. Amen.
