Micah -7

❇️ Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy (v18)

❇️ Micah reveals four important qualities of God in the above verse as follows.
▪️God pardons sin
▪️God forgives transgression
▪️God doesn’t stay angry forever
▪️God delights to show mercy

❇️ These qualities constitute God’s life line for all of us without which none of us can dream of eternal life.These provisions are available to all and if anyone fails to make it to heaven the blame squarely rests with that person for not availing the lifeline God offers to all.

❇️ In the light of our propensity to commit wilful sins it is not easy for anyone to pardon, to forgive, not to be angry for long and to show mercy to us.

❇️ God is a consuming fire who can’t see evil as he is of purer eyes(Hab.1:13) hence it is not easy for him to exhibit these qualities since our God is holiness personified.Yet God is able to give us this lifeline because he is also love personified

❇️ Though we have easy access for the God’s lifeline it is not easy for God since he has to balance both his holiness and love in dealing with us.

❇️ He reconciles his holiness that demands judgement to his love that forgives through his justice that operates on fairness towards people of faith in Jesus who are helpless because of satan exploiting their weak flesh (Rom.3:25-26) and hence God’s mercy triumphs over judgement (Jam.2:13)

How can we make it easy for God in dealing with us?

❇️ The only way to make it easy for God is to surrender our free will and accept God’s will for our life in all situations which will enable us to receive his mercy and love that he lavishes on us.

✅ Insights learnt:
▪️God’s lifeline of mercy and pardon is available to all
▪️God is holiness personified
▪️God is love personified
▪️God balances his holiness with his love by his justice.
▪️Mercy triumphs over judgement

Micah
When the rich get richer at the expense of the less powerful, when political leaders habitually accept bribes and when spiritual leaders lead others astray, God takes notice and he isn’t pleased. God does not make light of sin.

The prophet Micah lived during a time when the Israelites experienced all these things and his message to them resounds with judgment.

Yet Micah also provides a message of hope, hope of deliverance, comfort and forgiveness through the coming Messiah.

Today, as we live in this culture, let’s lean on God and the hope in His Son, that He will see us through!!!

Micah 7:19

“He will again have compassion on us, He will tread our iniquities underfoot. Yes, You will cast all their sins Into the depths of the sea.”

💞When 👨 man sinned against God, God did not forsake man. But decided to save 👨 man from eternal death by sending His Only Beloved Son on the 🌍 earth, so that He would reconcile man to God forever by shedding His blood 🩸and dying on the Cross ✝️as an expiation for sin.

💞 Psalm 103 – shows us the wonderful nature and character of God. God is seen as a kind, forgiving, healing, faithful, loving, tender, renewing strength, upright, just, slow to anger, a God who doesn’t stay angry or show bitterness forever because His people have sinned against Him and disobeyed Him.

💞 God doesn’t treat us as our sins deserve, nor repay us as befits our sins. But God casts our sins into the depths of the sea so that they are no more to be found or surfaced again in front of us. They are buried forever and remembered no more. Such is the love 💖 of our God to each one of us. God loves us unconditionally and is everready to forgive us.

👏 My Loving Lord, how grateful I am for the love ❤️ you show to me, a miserable sinner. I thank you Lord for forgiving me my sins innumerable times and embracing me and accepting me as your loving child each time that I come to you with a repented ♥️ heart. My Beloved Lord, give me Your Grace to overcome every sin that offends Thy Love. Help me to be a better person everyday. Amen.
