Why is the house of God neglected

Nehemiah 13:11
Nehemiah came from Babylon to Jerusalem in the 20th year of the reign of King Artaxerxes (445 BC).The rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem was completed in 52 days (Neh.6:15).There was a big spiritual revival afterwards (Neh.8,9,10). After 12 years, Nehemiah went back to Babylon for sometime (Neh.13:6). When he came back, he was upset at the developments.

Eliashib, the chief priest, associated with the enemies of Jews and helped them (Neh.13:4-9). Levites were neglected and they left their profession searching for livelihood. Sabbath was neglected, many were getting married to people of other faiths…

I also learned that the portions assigned to the Levites had not been given to them, and that all the Levites…had gone back to their fields(Neh.13:10). So Nehemiah rebuked the officials, called back the Levites and arranged for their support.

Levites were supposed to be supported by the people.
“They will receive no inheritance among the Israelites. Instead I give to the Levites as their inheritance the tithes that the Israelites present as an offering to the LORD”
(Numbers.18:23,24). When people stopped giving properly, that affected the support of the Levites…They left Levitical duties in the house of God and went in search of income.

Are we faithful in our giving? How much money from our income is used for “Levites”?
Are we neglecting the house of GOD or the needs of the ministry and ministers?

How can we support some “Levites” regularly, so that they can continue their work in the “house of GOD”?

Dear Friends,

Happy to see that you are enjoying the reading and study of God’s Word. Some people asked about why we are not reading some books which are in their Bible?

We got people from all over the world who are members of different Churches. Together, we are reading and studying Books which are common to all of us. Afterwards we are giving a gap of 30 days before starting the next programme. During that time, those who are interested can read and study those books which they couldn’t read. Others can revise the study of some books. Hope this is acceptable to you also? Let us continue to love one another irrespective of our small differences.
