Do you want guidance…?

A certain man of God has said, “If you are living in the Spirit you can do more things in one hour than you can do in your whole lifetime if you were living a natural life.”

Pastor S.B. Earnest used to say that we can live our life in two ways. Birds can walk and birds can fly. By walking a bird can cover a certain distance. But by flying it can cross mountains and rivers and other hindrances. A life that is guided by the Spirit is like a bird flying.

The journey from Egypt to Canaan was only a eleven-day journey but the people of Israel took forty years for that (see Deut 1:2). It was the Lord Who guided them and not man. Why then did God take them around for forty years? God guides us according to the state of our heart.

God had not wanted to take them through the wilderness but because of the state of their heart He had to do it. For some of us it is the desert journey all the time. The desert is a place where there is no flowers, no grass, no leaves, no shade, no fruits; it is a dry and desolate place. If God is to give us guidance, if He is to lead us in the way He wants to, our heart should be right with God. If our heart is stubborn and hard, the paths of God leads us in will be hard.

“Such as turn aside into their crooked ways, the Lord shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity” (Psa 125:5). If we hold on to our crooked ways, the Lord will not show us His perfect ways.

So let us fear the Lord and depart from every appearance of evil. “What man is he that feareth the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way that He shall choose” (Psa 25:12).

🥥 In a Nutshell 🥥

🌹 Do Not Disturb 🌹
The Israelites had to traverse through the territories of Seir and Ar to the Promised Land. The descendants of Esau lived in Seir. Moabites, the descendants of Lot lived in Ar. Ammonites, the descendants of Lot lived by the region of Moab (Deu 2:4, 9, 18, 19). God told the Israelites:

📖 Do not provoke them to war, for I will not give you any of their land, not even enough to put your foot on. Do not harass the Moabites or provoke them to war, for I will not give you any part of their land (Deu 2:5, 9; NIV).

The KJV says: Meddle not with them. Distress not them. BBE, another version says: give them no cause of trouble. Make no attack on them.

God gave the specified territories to Esau and Lot. He didn’t want the Israelites to disturb these people who had done them no harm. He cautioned the Israelites not to provoke them to war or harass them in any way.

The word provoke means to deliberately annoy or make someone angry. The word harass means to insult or abuse. Meddle means to interfere unnecessarily. God didn’t not want the Israelites to provoke another living peacefully in their territory.

Dear Ones in Christ, this is recorded in the Bible for our profit. Like the Israelites we are on our way to the Promised Eternal Land. There are many others in the road we travel. God is leading each one in a specific manner.

We need to know our limits and boundaries in relationships. Remember no one will put up with unwanted tantrums. Only a troubled person will trouble others.

Try disturbing your friends they will move away from you. Trouble your loved ones they will avoid you. Provoke your children, they will hate you. God will not tolerate such irrational behavior.

God bless us to be channels of blessings.
