Your sin will find you out Numbers 32:23

The Reubenites and Gadites came and requested Moses and Eleazar: “If they could settle in the Transjordan and not cross the river Jordan to settle on the west side (v 1-5).
Moses saw this request as similar to the rebellion of the first generation that refused to go into the promised land.

The Reubenites and the Gadites declared that once they had prepared safe places for their families and livestock, they would join them. Three times the two tribes promised that they would fight and obey the Lord (v 16-18; 25-27; 31-32)
๐Ÿ“Œ To this Moses told them, “If you fail to do this, you will be sinning against the Lord; and you may be sure that “YOUR SIN WILL FIND YOU OUT” ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐ŸŒˆ The God of the Bible is Omniscient, Omnipresence and Omnipotent. He sees and He knows everything. There are many references in the Bible where the sins committed by the people are exposed or in other words their sins have exposed / found them out.

๐Ÿ“ In Genesis 3, Adam and Eve had violated God’s commandment by eating the forbidden fruit. Instead of coming to God for forgiveness, they were hiding under the trees. God came and asked ” Adam, where are you “?
โ˜‘๏ธ Because of them sin came into this world (Rom 5:12)

๐Ÿ“ In Genesis 4, after Cain’s offering was rejected, the Lord said to him, ” Why are you angry?. .. If you do not do what is right, SIN IS CROUCHING AT YOUR DOOR, it desires to have you, but you must master it.

โ˜‘๏ธ Cain failed to overcome his anger and there after he killed Abel. Finally he was driven out from the presence of the Lord (v 16)

๐Ÿ“ King David’s double sin @ Adultery and Murder was exposed by Nathan (2Sam 11-12)
โœ… David confessed his sins and said, “I have sinned against the Lord ” (12:13) and he received forgiveness.

๐Ÿ“ In Acts 5 Ananias and Saphhira died because they sinned against the Holy Spirit.
โ˜‘๏ธ They were given a chance to confess but they lied to the Holy Spirit, and so they died (v 1-10)

๐Ÿ“Œ In above passages, it is clear that God does not ask question because he needs information but he ask questions (through His servants) for our good : to give us the opportunity to face the facts; be honest; confess our sins and receive His forgiveness.

๐Ÿ’ž Beloved Church, Sin is dangerous; Sin is contagious; Sin is costly (Rom 5:8); Sin will expose us ONE DAY.
But Sin is pardonable in Christ Jesus ๐Ÿ™

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness “. ๐Ÿ›

Glory to God ๐Ÿ™Œ
