As a tree in a hot summer gives a great refreshing to the one who shelters in its shadow, so is a person whose tongue is seasoned with salt.

Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt…(Col 4: 6)

Physical pain caused by someone might be forgotten one day…
But the pain caused by harsh words stays for a longer period…
Many who are around you are just waiting to hear one word of encouragement….

Do you know that one word could brighten up someone’s day?
Angry words couldn’t accomplish anything good…
Kind words uttered with a simple smile could do a lot.
Let your tongue be used to build others not to break!
The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

When we cultivate a graceful tongue, we will become Peace makers not the peace breakers.

What man is he that desireth life and loveth many days that he may see good?

Keep thy tongue from evil and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil and do good. Seek peace and pursue it. (Ps 34:12-14)

God may help us to use our tongue wisely.

Pride goes before destruction A haughty spirit before a fall Proverbs 16:18

Feeling good about ourselves and our accomplishments is not sinful nor should we belittle our gifts. The kind of pride Solomon renounces is taking all the credit for our successes and not giving credit to souverign God. As every success is a gift from God, we should give Him all the glory.

The lord is able to to keep us from falling Jude 24. No matter how much God may bless us or use us, let us keep in mind our littleness before God Then we will become worshippers of God.and we will never be proud and fall into sin.

*Wisdom and humility go hand in hand Pr 11:2,and a humble person will be honored by God Pr 29:23
