Reckless words
Proverbs 12:18-19 “The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Truthful lips endure forever.”
Reckless words
Words that are not thought out. Words that are spoken out of emotion. Words that are spoken with no concern of repercussions.
These are the words that most often are the words that bring regret in the end.
Speaking reckless words will get us nowhere.
They will only hurt others and eventually ourselves.
On the other hand, ………..
words that come through wisdom are words that bring healing to the situation.
So when a circumstance comes up and emotions start to rise, hold our tongue.
Focus.
Let wisdom flow through us.
Let that wisdom bring the needed healing to the situation.
I read that the average person speaks 11,000,000 words a year.
Do you know how many words that are in a lifetime?
At the age of 65 it is 715,000,000 words.
Words matter. Words have power.
Words do hurt. And words do heal.
They can encourage or discourage.
They can pour love or spew hate.
They can build up or tear down.
Let’s ask three questions ourselves ……….. ,,
Have I never hurt another person with my words ?
Have I ever repeated something about another person that I did not know for certain was absolutely true. ?
Have I ever participated in idle talk about other people and their lives?
Our words, whether spoken or thought, are powerful.
As believers,…………
we must become like Him and
use our words as He did.
From Christ-like hearts may we speak words of love, light, and life, to the people and circumstances around us.
