Every new day is a precious gift

Psalm: 118: 1

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever

This Psalm declares the beautiful deliverance of the Lord. It also provides a wonderful example of how to thank the Lord for His work in our lives. V:1-4 show us that praise is not only personal and private but can be expressed by a whole community. V: 5-14 encourge us to reflect on our times of need to remember how God has worked in us and through us

⚡ Psalm 118 begins and ends with the exhortation to
“give thanks to the Lord” We are to give thanks when we come into His presence.(Psalm: 100: 4)
Paul exhorts us to bring our
requests to God with
thanksgiving (Philipp: 4:6)
Such an attitude of gratitude will help us remember our
abundant blessings. Paul also urges us to”give thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thessa: 5:18) Even though it is difficult to do so, there is good reason why God encourages us to have
a spirit of gratitude. Gratitude is grounded in the
truth that our Lord is”good”
and His Love is”eternal”. He is present with us and strengthens us in the midst of trouble. (Heb: 13:5-6)

⚡ The second thing the
Psalmist reminds us is the
newness of each day. He wrote,”This is the day the
Lord has made, we will rejoice, and be glad in it”
(V.24) So often we focus on
the disappointments of
yesterday or the uncertainties of tomorrow and miss God’s matchless gift to us,Today,

⚡ Of course, we face many
struggles everyday. But the
treasure of each brand-new
day is so special that Moses
was prompted to write, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom”
(Psalm : 90:12)
💫Every new day is a precious gift.
💫 Each new day gives us new reasons to praise the
Lord.
