Life can be like a dark night in the wilderness

Psalm 27:5 “For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.”

When David was inspired to write these scriptures he was facing constant attacks from enemies who wanted to destroy him and his kingdom and mock the God he served.

Life can be like a dark night in the wilderness.
Threats can be real or imagined.
We feel unprotected and vulnerable, unstable, insecure, anxious, and maybe even deserted.

FEAR……………. Fear seems to be everywhere right now: fear of disease, fear of death, fear of other people, fear of disruption, fear of economic ruin, fear of the loss of life as we know it.

If you are like me, we ask lots of questions during these times as well.
When will this pass?
Do I have the strength to get through this?
Why did this have to happen to me?
Does God even care about me right now?

We see conflict, sickness, and death all around us and we search in vain for some explanation for it

But Listen, … what David reminds us that “God is our refuge and strength”………

Our Lord comes to us in the midst of our fears——

The Lord’s “shelter” is the place where we find the ultimate solution to all of the problems that confront us “in the day of trouble.”

We are safe in the Lord’s “shelter” when we are living under the grace of the Son of God.
