Life of sin in Adam has ended
🔹DEATH TO SIN
Once, Sin was my life and gave me my identity. Now, Christ is my life. In him, I have a new identity. As a result of my union with Christ in His death and resurrection, my life of sin in Adam has ended. A life of sin is unthinkable because it overlooks God’s holy character and His purpose in salvation. He saved me from the punishment my sin deserves, from the guilt and shame sin brings, from sin’s power over me and the practice of sin, and from the love of sin and the pleasure it once gave me.
Truth is: God restores all who repent and never crushes those who struggle.
🔹THE LAW
The law cannot justify me or be unable to sanctify me. Salvation satisfies the law and at the same time releases me from it. Now I step forward in Christ to live an increasingly sanctified, righteous life. When God calls me to faith in Christ, He calls me to struggle against sin. He calls me to battle sin personally, Jesus won the battle. When I triumph over sin, it is by grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit; never my own strength. In the struggle against sin, I have to take full advantage of the weapons God made available to me – prayer, Bible study, Christian fellowship, worship and service to others.
Truth is: The Christian life is glorious, but it is not easy.
To God be the Glory!
