True repentance will experience Joy and Restoration

In this Lockdown a great lesson to learn is that after judgement and true repentance we will experience Joy and Restoration… Zephaniah 3:17-20.

🙌🏽 We don’t like to hear the words judgement or return and repent. But, once we truly understand why God judges, and why there is a need for godly repentance, we can get excited about the promises for those who yield to God’s discipline. Israel was very arrogant against God’s true prophets who brought the warning of judgement. The biggest problem throughout the history of Israel was that of idolatry, the worshipping of other false gods along with the true God.

🙌🏽 Zephaniah wrote during the reign of Josiah, the last good king of Judah. He warns them at the onset that their next period of apostasy would bring judgment, Zephaniah 1:1-3. This small Book has big lessons for us to learn from. He warns the nations around Israel, who God used for His purpose against Israel, that they can’t get away for messing around with God’s people and that they will be judged, Zephaniah 2:8-15.

🙌🏽 Child of God, Remember this, in this lockdown, do we need to repent? Today, we face the same problems as the Israelites, but packaged in a different way. We worship God on Sundays, then forget Him during our busy weekdays. The demands of our social culture, love of money, possessions, recognition, and success (without God in it), has become our idols. Repentance is an opportunity for everyone to leave a futile and fruitless life for ‘an abundant life, abiding in the Vine,’ John 15:1-2.

🙌🏽 God desires humility. We got to understand and consider who He is and who we are. He loves us and makes a way for us to have a relationship with Him, which is truly overflowing with joy and delight, with restoration of everything that is lost, especially the lost relationship with God in this lockdown season, Zephaniah 3:17-20… Amen. 🙏
