Take a Break with Jesus in the Lockdown 🍞☕
Day 247, 270 Days Bible Reading, Thursday, 18.3.21.

In this lockdown what has brought us through so far is the Wisdom of God and the Power of in Christ Jesus…..1 Corinthians 1:24

🌿In Christ Jesus we have both the Wisdom of God and the Power of God, the Wisdom that was there before the beginning of creation and in creation, Proverbs 8:23, and the power that raised Jesus from the dead, Ephesians 1:19-20. God has already lavished His many sided Wisdom in Christ Jesus for us according to the riches of His grace, Ephesians 1:8 and we need to pray the Ephesians 1:17 prayer to understand this by revelation knowledge.

🌿We who has made it through this far in our lockdown can rejoice in Lord for we have this Wisdom and Power available to us always because it is in us. All we need to do is renew our mind to this truth, Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:23. This is what I am doing in my lockdown Wisdom classes with young people who are struggling to bring them to Jesus and let His Wisdom and Power work in them. God delights in taking the foolish things of this world to shame the wise, 1 Corinthians 1:27. Well, if we think we are foolish and weak, then we are qualified to be used of God, just come as we are to Jesus.

🌿Child of God, Remember this, we have nothing to boast about except boast about God, 1 Corinthians 1:31. God calls us to be rooted and grounded in Christ, Colossians 3:6-7, so that we can walk in confidence, not in our own abilities, but in His power and in His wisdom through our intimate relationship with Jesus. Paul is writing this letter in response to a report from Chloe’s people about problems in the Corinthian church, 1:11. In this letter, he provides godly guidance for dealing with those problems with the wisdom of God. He is emphasizing that the message of the Cross is a stumbling block for those who are wise in their own eyes like the Greeks and those who are looking for miraculous signs like the Jews, 1 Corinthians 1:23, but what is going to bring wisdom and power is preaching Christ crucified, 1Corinthians for both Jews and Greeks and anyone else.

🌿Paul spent 18 months in Corinth a beautiful and wealthy city on his Second Missionary Journey and established a church there. We read in Acts 18 about the detailed work in Corinth during that time. I had the privilege to visit this city a few years ago. During Paul’s time there was a large Jewish community in this Greek city and many issues cropped among them preaching the message of the cross then and even now. Let this lockdown season be a time to bring this much needed message through, our lives that are crucified with Christ Galatians 2:20, so that Christ Jesus can live through us with wisdom and power to impact the world around us…. Amen 🙏
