David teaches that greatest saint can succumb to temptation

♥️ The Scandal ♥️
Today we read about the most scandalous offence of king David. God made it sure that it is recorded in the Bible. God wanted it to be a warning for the generations to come. This horrific incident has many a lessons to teach.

♦️ David the Saint ♦️
David was a man after God’s own heart. He was the renowned penner of many Psalms. He was an ardent worshipper with an extraordinary zeal for the Lord. He refused to harm king Saul who hunted him. He extended kindness to Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son.

David showed kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, who was the king of Ammon. He was a man who listened to the wise counsels of Abigail and wise woman of Tekoa. He depended on God, inquired God before taking decisions and was a man of prayer.

📍 David the Sinner 📍
David lazed on the terrace instead of going for battle that messed up his life. He saw a beautiful woman bathing, took her and sinned with her. She was another man’s wife. Later when she conceived he schemed and had her husband killed in the battle. He heaved a sign of relief after covering up his sin.

But God was displeased with David. He sent Nathan the prophet to confront David. And David ackowledged his sin and repented. But David had to pay the price for his sins. One after the other so many gruesome incidents happened in his house.

♦️ David the Saved ♦️
David acknowledged his sin. He confessed and repented and he did not repeat it again. He wrote Psalm 51 after being confronted by Nathan. David bore the judgment of God patiently without murmuring or complaining. From the life of David we can learn few important lessons.

🌹 Life Lesson’s 🌹
Dear ones in Christ, the life of David teaches that even the greatest saint can succumb to temptation. The man after God’s own heart failed to guard his heart from lust. This incident also reveals God’s mercy to the repenting sinner. Sin evokes God’s judgment.

God is merciful but does not spare any sinner though it be the king or a saint. This event is recorded so that we are alert at all times. No wonder Paul said: Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall (1 Cor 10:12). Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life (Prov 4:23).

God bless us to be channels of blessings.
