There may be some iron gate in our life that has blocked our way
“Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.” Acts 12:5
The church at Jerusalem was under severe attack. Herod, the king.
Stephen had been murdered. Saul of Tarsus was zealous in his persecutions toward the Christians.
James is beheaded by Herod and Peter is awaiting his execution in jail.
What a shock it must have been for the church to see him placed in prison!!!!!!!!!!
Peter was in prison awaiting his execution.
The Church had neither human power nor influence to save him. There was no earthly help, Noone was there to help them.
Where could they turn?
Here we see that “The church was earnestly praying to God for him”.
God sent His angel, who aroused Peter from sleep and led him out through the first and second wards of the prison; and when they came to the iron gate, it opened to them of its own accord, and Peter was free
There may be some iron gate in our life that has blocked our way. Like a caged bird beaten against the bars! “When thou passest through the waters…they shall not overflow thee” (Isa. 43:2).
Dear Freinds…
… God does not open paths for us in advance of our coming. He does not promise help before help is needed. He does not remove obstacles out of our way before we reach them.
…………. YET WHEN WE ARE ON THE EDGE OF OUR NEED, GOD’S HAND IS STRETCHED OUT.
Many of us are forever worrying about difficulties which they foresee in the future.
They expect that God is going to make the way plain and open before them, miles and miles ahead;
……. *whereas He has promised to do it only step by step as they may need.
We must get to the waters and into their floods before we can claim the promise.
If storms are filling our lives, we need to pray until something happens……….
Even our *”Groanings which cannot be uttered are often prayers which cannot be refused.”
Chains and bars cannot prevent God from accomplishing His purpose.
There is nothing too hard for the Lord. Nothing!

Acts 12:23. Immediately because Herod did not give praise to God ,an angel of the lord struck him down and he was eaten by worms and died.
When Peter could not be found after a careful search, Herod interrogated the guards and put them to death. However Herod met his own painful end as a divine judgement by the hand of God through an angel because of his conceit when he accepted the people’s worship He was eaten by worms and it is a disgraceful way to die Pride is a serious sin and in this case God chose to punish him immediately.
